Just curious as if anyone else has anxiety problems. when i was younger i used to have panic attacks on a regular basis and they went away for a while. in the past coupld months i have been extremly stressted. i graduate school in 8 weeks and am moving to a new town and basically starting on my own. been living by myself for 1 year but its just because of school now i have to worry about living on my own. anyways, i have been feeling very tired/burned out. i also have been feeling like i am almost stoned all day long. I dont do any drugs however i feel as if im partially asleep and not 100 percent awake all the time. The more i think about it the worse it gets. If i dont think about it i dont really notice it. anyone else have weird problems with anxiety?

Find things to distract yourself. You can't be anxious if your thinking about something that doesn't make you anxious. Otherwise I'd suggest getting some meds to even you out. From what I understand, they do wonders.
-
I tend to over-analyze and over-worry about things in my life and dwell on them. Especially when i'm in trouble with the police or a judge or something or tickets. The more stress the worse it is..sometimes I don't even feel like going around people when i'm stressed.

You're an idiot. Seriously, flat out retarded. You are supposed to stress about the things you stress about. It means you aren't a sociopath. The day you stop thinking about how you are a fucked up loser is the day you lost as life. When that day comes, call Hotrex. He'll USPS you some rope.

i have recently developed anxiety and it sucks dick but if ur tired all the time with no ambition thats signs of depression even if u dont feel depressed it can come with anxiety...its fucked up but u cant help it i would got to the doctor and get some meds im on lexapro and it works great might not work for you because everyone is diffrent but they will figure something out for you

my problem isnt really low ambition more of just that i feel sort of distant from reality when i think about how i dont want to feel like this. sometimes i will work my self up so much i will feel almost like im blacking out. like i am there but i dont feel like it. hard to explaini guess.

Talk to a professional, what you are experiencing is very common, and there are many options.

I've been on a variety of meds growing up for anxiety/depression problems. They didn't do shit for me except make me tired. My friend was prescribed seroquel which is retarded and basically numbs your feelings. Sure you don't feel upset, but you'll also do harmful shit without realizing the consequences. I was prescribed paxil (SSRI), prozac (MAOI), and xanax (benzo). None did a damn bit of good.
I over-analyze every fucking thing so can feel you on that. It actually has caused me some insomnia problems because I can't sleep due to my brain constantly racing thinking about shit. Pot is no longer enjoyable like it used to be after the "peak" when I'm stoned but able to focus. Once I start analyzing things, stoned, it usually builds my anxiety or makes me depressed. If I smoke anymore, I prefer to smoke with friends that will distract me. Funny thing -- a lot of the shit I want to change about life while I'm stoned seems like a really good, beneficial idea. Once I'm no longer stoned, I think the opposite. It's hard to determine which is best when they both sound "correct," but strangely enough my "high" reasoning is usually what most would consider the best advice. Too bad that at the same time it makes me miserable...
Anyway, the "keep yourself distracted" suggestion was a good one. If I keep enough shit going on, I never have time to analyze and get disappointed or depressed. You can try pot, it may help and it may not. I don't suggest prescriptions. IF they do you any good, they're just masking the problem and not solving it. Unless you truly have some sort of chemical imbalance, it won't do shit to improve your life. I realized during a great trip one day that if I don't like how my life is going, I'm the only one that can change it. Simple concept but took me forever to realize until I jumped in the k-hole and looked at everything at the most basic of levels.

agreed. staying busy helps i seem to only get my attacks when im just sitting around bumming , then i begin to think about it

I don't agree. Some people get anxious and it keeps them from functioning. If you don't function, you can't stop being anxious because you have no healthy distractions. If the meds help you function, that allows you be destracted, which allows you to live a healthy existence.
Basically, do whatever you need to, to make your life a pleasant existence as long as you aren't hurting yourself or others in the process.

so my feeling of being semi/stoned/distant from reality actually just anxiety and the effects from it?

I think so.. You are way overly stressed.. It takes a MAJOR toll on the body when the mind is not well. When I am not in some kind of project or hobby I am usually going nuts. My girl diagnosed me bi-polar today. Read the definition of it.
-
yeah. go see a doc if anything. make sure it isnt something other than a shit ton of stress. im sorta feeling the same as you described. and i know im stressed the fuck out.
i need a drink and a :noel:

ya just read some articles on derealization being caused from reaity. shitty thing is the more i think about it the worse it gets. if i didnt think about it i pry would not even have it.
-
used to then said fuck it and let it go

I think everyone has periods where they keep thinking about something. Its okay to keep an imporant thing in focus.
However, if you've thought the thing through thoroughly, it doesn't make sense to dwell on it. TELL YOURSELF to stop thinking about it, and go on with life. I tend to create projects, and think them over a million times to get the details right.
For example - I can't afford to get new body panels, lifters, or weld the exhaust on my 67 bird, so I just let it sit. Its been happy being alone for 3 years, and I've been happy flinging my Hondas around corners for 1/10th the price. Sure I'd love to get it going and there's lots to do on it - but it will still be there tomorrow. It won't fix itself by me thinking about it.
Physically do something about the stressor, or move on.

Man I'm going through the same crap. I'll be fine for days or even a week then for a few days it's almost like you are living in a dream. Nothing seems real. The more you think about it the worse it gets. Speaking of been that way the past two days since I had a bad anxiety attack the other day just riding down the road.
It get's annoying because it makes you focus and magnify things. Like I'll have a pain in my left arm or chest and freak the hell out thinking oh shit am I having a heart attack, then I will be all worked up about it that I actually start trying to feel stuff that's not there.
Do you ever have a rush of emotions/feelings and start to panic and/or fear something? Don't want to be alone at that moment?

Not likely. If I'm anxious if makes it worse. Feels like my heart is racing and beating out of my chest which is not a good feeling when you have anxiety already. Key is to get a good buzz, don't get to the point that you forget what your doing 5 seconds later. That is not fun at all while anxious .

I had anxiety problems when I was young, a lot of people do.
You just sound like you're burnt out. That happens to a lot of people in their 3/4th year of college. Trust me... it's going to be OK. You just need some time off (8 weeks out) and being in a new town will be like a vacation.
Where you moving to?

+1
I used to run 10 miles a day (zoned the fuck out and numb as shit) to take my mind off shit. Lost weight and came to some conclusions on how to handle stress and anxiety

^
Werd I have gone to the gym before while stressing out and when I leave I'm in a daze and everything is out of my head
-
I ran so fucking hard, I fell flat on my face, didnt feel it, just my body said no more, so I got up and walked it out that day, but rain or shine, I was out running my ass off.

Feel better about yourself?

I have never had an anxiety attack until about 5 months ago. It was when the economy got bad and I had no phone calls and no work. There were many things that I had no control over and I had so much anxiety and fear that I felt like I was going to have a heart attack. My doctor prescribed me xanax, and it calmed me down. They are habit forming and don't work as well after awhile. But considering the alternative, it is worth it to me. If your anxiety is so bad tat you can't function, it will drastically affect your like in a negative way. I'm not saying to go get some xanax, I'm just saying go to your doctor and ask about it.
Either way, it will pass, and either way the anxiety will never fully go away. We all hit that rough patch, some more than others. I am a very motivated person, and have never had an issue with medical problems in the past. Try to keep busy. And like someone else said. Stay on a normal schedule with sleep.

moving to watertown wisconsin. smaller town outside of madison. getting a townhouse with a friend of mine. very nice place for me, just life seems to be getting a lot different now that its time for me to pay the bills etc. im going to see a doctor on fri to talk about my feeling of unreality. ive felt like it for the past week. seems like my mind is sort of cloudy and im not 100 percent awake. used to feel this occasionally but never this long. parents have problems with anxiety so i hope its just that causing it.
-
So you're going to be living next door to know shitbags like jagojon3 and rsmith?
Dude, just kill yourself.
-
no, jago used to live in madison and so did i. i believe he moved to another town for his job now. not sure where rsmith is from.
