Title: calling jorsher
Post by: crxtuner on March 17, 2009, 08:15:13 PM
Got winblowz up and running, but for me and the rest of us that downloaded it. My comp still is counting down the days until i have to activate my copy. Thanks in advance. And thank god we can escape Rick P. who thought he could buy some E-Friends and make them all his bitch.

What version of Windows did you load? My Windows 7 I loaded does that if it loses internet connection.

I never would touch Vista after messing with it on a few other PC's. I like 7 though. It's very Vista esque, but just feels smoother to me.

Are you man enough to handle that?

You can look on a torrent site for a Vista activator, although I'm not sure why it's asking you to activate (never asked me in the past).

Or, you could just get win 7 :P  Runs much smoother and I've been using it since it reached the public.

is 7 going to be worth a fuck?

Beta is already worth more fuck than Vista.

Have it on my main PC, and installed it on a friend's laptop with 0 problems.  Everything ran from the start.  My wifi card doesn't work so I have to use ethernet connected to a dd-wrt flashed linksys router in client mode, but, I'm sure it'll be fine once the final version is out.

I like DirectX games, ms visual studio, and the multitude of applications available on Windows that aren't anywhere else.

Linux has its uses (my phone, seedbox, and upcoming media server run it), but not that useful for me on my "workstation"

Vista runs fine on both my computers. You guys are unnecessarily scared of new shit.

Yeah, I never had a problem with it.  Definitely uses more resources than it needs to, but ram is cheap O0

At first I didn't like it and thought it was bad due to my dad's vista laptop being a PITA, but then again that was when it first came out, I didn't know jack shit about navigating it, and he's a novice PC user at best.

the only problem I have with vista is I have to keep updating it.

if I go a month I'll end up with my laptops not working sluggish and have 20+ updates that take for ever to finish.

hate waiting for computer when it is updating.

When does the 7 demo time out?

July 1st from what I've heard, but there will be hacks to extend it I'm sure.  They're talking about trying to get it retail this year, but I think bdvt would have a better estimation than me.

They need a public release candidate.

OSX86 is good if you have an intel board. Fuck AMD and osx86, I got mine running, but its a royal pain in the fucking ass. Too much kext editing.

That's the main reason I haven't dual booted yet.  I don't want it for anything other than fucking around, so it's not worth the hassle.  Also, they don't support my Radeon 48xx card, but it's supposed to be supported in snow leopard.

Is that your general policy about all things fight club related, or your specific stance on that one question?  Because it seems like an honest question, but I'm kinda sorta out of the fight club political loop.
