fairly sweet. couple of teens strap a camera to a balloon and send it up for some sweet pics 20 miles up. it's a bit more technical than that but you get the picture. a lot of pictures at the flickr site

I've always wanted to do a RC helicopter or model rocket + camera.

I've always wanted to do a RC helicopter or model rocket + camera.
Good luck with the helicopter idea. i've done it before and it made the damn helicopter so unstable that it was fighting me to stay in 1 spot. I got it up pretty high then the damn camera broke loose from the vibrations and down it came lol. i watched the video afterwards and you can see the thing come tumbling to earth FAST lol.

I think one of these days I'm going to rig up my CVS camcorder to some HMT multi-stage model rocket. Its $20-30 1-use cam you can hack to make into a 'real' camcorder, and it saves ~10 mins of Xvid video, 100% solid-state electronics. As long as I could recover it after a few miles of flight... :-X
BTW I can't recall, don't you need some FAA clearance to fly small shit a certain height into the air, like 1000'??
