Well about five months ago I traded my 99 Hatch for a 99 Si. Had the usual stupid shit wrong with it due to people screwing things up by being lazy and not doing them right. Fixed a few things and ended up making $500 off my total investment.
One of the guys who wanted the Si was in the hospital due to a collapsed lung. He had a CRX he thought about trading, but decided to keep it as a spare. He was still in the hospital when I sold the car so he didn't get it. So cruising craigslist last night when I come across an ad for a CRX. Call him up and be damned if not the same guy. Just got out of the hospital and can't lift more than 5lbs for awhile so he bought another car and selling the Rex since can't work on it.
90 CRX Si
Miles: 315k, MILF tastic
Miles on motor: "aprox 70K"
Engine: This one goes out to my homie Chirs, SOHC ZC nog logs
Price: $2500----- Paid $2k even
Good:
*The car runs pretty damn good. Doesn't smoke at all and I couldn't see any oil leaks and he said it didn't have any.
*Lowered on "ground control" coil overs, but I was unable to confirm this as it sat too low for me to see.
*A large part of the interior is taken apart, which was fine for me as I planned on stripping most of it for a good cleaning.
*It has a 3A Racing exhaust, never heard of it, but isn't bad. Not loud at all.
*Sun roof works great
*Was painted about 5 years ago and body looks pretty straight
*Tinted windows with only one bad spot on passengers window
Bad:
*The B pillar trim on drivers side needs replacing as has a broken tab
*The hood is bent, looks like where someone tried to shut it with something under it on the side
*Climate control bezel is broke in half, no surprise
*Drivers seat has small hole and foam on left hip is flat
*Shitty Vato Zone shift knob that is hella loose. Need to find my DC Sport one that has seemed to vanish.
*Some noob ass cut holes in the door panel for a set of tweeters in a retarded location
*Where drivers middle door hinge attaches to door jam it is ripped a little
Was getting dark, didn't have too much time to get pictures. Will get some better ones tomorrow when I start to clean it up/out.

Yeah I have wanted one since I was about 15, but never could find one in half way decent shape when I had the money. For a good running rex with a straight body, no rust, and decent paint for 2k I figured I really couldn't go wrong.
Nice buy dude. My driver door has the exact same door hinge rip :P
Yeah quite a few of them I was looking at had the same issue. Both of Jorshers do too.
-
Thought this was gonna be a ratemypoo post, nice crx.
-
I hate you.
Nice CRX.
-
CRX like that worth 5000$ here.
-
Well bought I'd say.
-
Are they pricey like that in the English side of the country? 3-5k $
-
$2,000 :?:
nice crx though. i kinda miss my crx, but i like my ef hatch better.
Didn't you pay like $1500 for a hatch that ran like shit?
Are they pricey like that in the English side of the country? 3-5k $
They are pretty pricey around here. It's hard to find them un-rusted, riced out, body wavy and beat to hell, or running good. The guy had just posted it last night so I got up early as shit and woke his ass up when I called. No doubt it would have been gone fast. They sell fast for a decent price around here.
-
We are in the same situation as I can see.
long ass link to riced out crx (http://www.lespac.com/recherche.php?PHPSESSID=3d9f8771b2c097857332109f220068c0®ion=&num_reg_ori=8&ville_rech_id=3176&parindex=0&o=/recherche.php&total=&total_categories=&cp=0&cpt=&gr=0&parindex=0®ionmembre=N&R01=&R19=0&mots=crx&lstgr=0&ville_rech_text=Montr%C3%A9al&agemax=0&distancemax=0&orderby=distance&prix_de=0&prix_a=0&annee_de=0&annee_a=0&type=0&etat=0&no_region_de=0&no_region_a=&no_region=)

Mike is jealous since they dont sell crx si's at the dollar store.
He also has the ugliest color civic ever made.

I hate you.
Nice CRX.
-
someone must have took a knife to that interior they always look perfect on old hondas
-
That's not an old Honda, Johnny.
-
very nice rex. i have a 91 also..
-
So as I was reading around I noticed a trend of how CRX's leaked and had to take headliner out to fix it. So I assumed that this is why the guy had it taken apart. Decided to go ahead and wash it as it hit the low 60's and by the end of the week will be in the low 30's. Sure enough it leaks.

So need to get that fixed before I put the interior back together.
Here is a better view of where the hood is bent

Here is where some idiot tried to glue the sash on. I swear some people should NEVER be allowed to touch a car. This should be fun trying to get this crap out.

Here is a better picture of the exhaust. Apparently they just took off the muffler and welded on some kind of mini-muffler/tip deal. Surprisingly isn't loud and sounds decent.

Oh Shat
It was nice and semi warm today so I figure what a great day to adjust the bumper mounting plates and install the bumper. Picture is worth a 1000 words....

NA, that's after I got extremely pissed and bolted/zip tied the bumper without the support. The support is bent up on one end, which was hard to tell just by glancing at it. It slopes up starting from the middle all the way to the right side which keeps it from lining up on the car right and the bumper won't fit around it right.
So I say ok whatever, I'll just fit the new bumper up and see how it looks.....wrong. The new bumper doesn't line up right. It sits about a 1/2 inch too low and out on the fenders and around the head lights and looks slightly warped also. At first I thought it was the fender/clips bent, but after putting my older bumper on it fits like a glove, so it's def the bumper. Sigh...what a waste of $70 and 6 hours of my time to drive to get them.
Why I can't keep the one I have:

no he paid too much for a beat to siht rx7 that he had all these hopes and dreams for and nothing ever happened, he made all these threads about what he was going to swap in and do this and that and never did shit, nothing ever happened, and it was complete failure, jus tlike johnnys datsun which he was going to swap a v8 in, fails of failure
-
*Climate control bezel is broke in half, no surprise

*Where drivers middle door hinge attaches to door jam it is ripped a little
All the same shit is fucked up on my crx, and on the last one I had, seems to be fucked on all of them...
I'm jealous of how clean your paint is after 315k miles...has it been repainted? I am not jealous of the hack jobs the guy did.
Link me to more info on the leaking... Mine leaks too but I suspected it was where the guy used weatherproofing shit from home depot around the hatch which doesn't bother me much, if it's leaking in the headboard I'd like to fix that shit.
Good deal for $2k, is what I paid for mine without any nifty swaps and nasty yellow paint...
-

Is the yellow really that common? :?: Guy I knew bought a yellow CRX Si with a dohc ZC swap for about that much, body beat to shit covered in bondo with panels hanging off, hackass swap and nasty yellow paint.
It was thus dubbed the chinese banana.
Oh yeah. Nice CRX. I hate you too.
-

Is the yellow really that common?
The fact that the color exists means it's too common...
But to answer your question I only know of one other yellow one in this area (people have called saying they saw my yellow crx with black wheels somewhere that I wasn't around). Any other color would have been nicer, but you don't pass up unmolested CRXs of any color.

my y-49 tried to kill me on mutipul occasions, and ended up being sold for $100 once it started doing smoke screens at wot.

It sucks trying to find parts around here. Most junkyards have crushed them years ago and not too many left to have a replenished supply in the yards. I'm strongly tempted to just go to Certi-Fit (about a 6 hour drive) and pick up some new parts.
-
Nice CRX, I wanted a black one but grabbed the first decent one I found. I have a sohc zc as well, It goes good, nice score

I agree, Jorsher has some karmic bad mojo that rings true with his Y-49 machine, and somehow protects him on some level. It is confusing, but the only possible answer.
