I was driving on the highway and I heard clicking sound in the dash and the engine missfired. I had a CEL at one time, but after a restart the cel was gone. Did that 2-3 times.
I think the sound was comming from the main relay... What can cause the main relay to act like that? I'm not sure if the problem could be related to the recent installation of eCtune, but I never had problem before.
Also, the thing was happening on ~20-30% throttle only.
It was my first "long" ride on the highway since I installed eCtune so I don't know if it's related to it.
If someone had similar problem...
I know JD doesnt like direct pics in his section so here are some nws pics:

mine has never done that.
i suspect you are doing something wrong. :)

Resolder the joints on the main relay just to be sure. Only takes 5 minutes.
-
Ground, a nice thing to stand on.
-
Might be a ground. I don't drive this car very often. Things are rusting fast.
I'll solder the joints in the main relay to see if it helps too.
-
with my hatch pin d1 went bad white/blue i belive my car would randomly die found it to be the power to the ecu from main relay.
-
Ground, T-stat housing. Or maybe your main engine ground.

are you using an ostrich with ectune?
if so, it is probably your cable. i have had that happen from the cable being loose. thats what i hate about ectune. if you have a chip, you cant retune as you want and if you want to be able to tune it, you have to have an ostrich or demon. i like to have a chip in my car when driving normally
-
Yeah, ostrich + ectune. I don't really care about chip, I like ostrich. I'll check the cable tomorrow.
Did it a lot this morning too. I'll check it out all your inputs thursday when I have some free time. Thanks guys!

You are overthinking it... your rod isnt bending. Your rod bearing might not be too happy the weird rpm related noise, but the rod isnt physically bending

No, he just posted asking for help in an RX7 thread. That, and the website in his profile, explains it all.
