so I got rid of my HX35, mainly because I was shit ass broke for the rest of this semester. However, I am making money again and plan on going with a smaller, faster responding turbo. I really did enjoy the garrett T3/T4 57 trim response MUCH more than the holset, but even then I wanted to reduce spool time.
If you have other ideas lmk and i'll add them to the list.. basically i'm looking for something that responds like a 16g does for the DSM guys; They spool as soon as you press the pedal and pull hard.
btw, I'll be running a stock ls/vtec with gsr cams, so i'm not looking for top end power any more.. it's pointless on a street car unless you like getting tickets. My goal is around 300whp less than 3000rpm spool

I'd recommend the 60trim T3, but maybe with the .48ar exhaust. My friend had a 1st gen B16 that used the .60/.63 from a thunderbird, and had 9psi by ~3500. It made 250whp on uberdata. A bigger motor with more boost could probably hit 300whp using the .48ar housing.
The .63ar will give you more power per psi, but cost you a few hundred rpm. I've seen one SRT-4 guy make 368whp on a .48ar stg3 hotside (granted it was a 50trim t3/t04e w/basic boltons), so it's capible of a lot more than people think.

Thanks guys.. I guess it's straight T3 for my update in Spring.. i'll get a super 60 if possible.
I think going from a b16 to an LS/VTEC is going to be the best part, and since I have everything to do that right now it should be done over the Christmas break, smoochie boochie, bitchez smoochie boochie, bitchez!
I know some of you may be thinking "FABLAD" and "trendy fag is trendy", but LS/VTEC is or was trendy for a reason, and torque is the reason, period.
BTW, I will be popping the question to my babies momma this month.. I broke myself by purchasing a ring when I was low on funds to begin with. True love, or stupidity? maybe a little of both O0

16g from an evo 7 or 8.

T3 60 trim is my vote, or 16g.
Both will spool stupid fast, you'll have to set the boost to nog to get anywhere near 300whp, especially with GSR cams but they'll do what you're looking to do from personal experience.
16g on an LS with B16 gearing is one of the most fun street cars I've driven.
