Title: Stoopid ass Volkswagen
Post by: 97Econobox on December 06, 2009, 01:42:46 PM
SO anybody out there got a Bentley or know anything about the 95-97 B4 Passats?  I did the heater core and that went well but the damn Recycler door wont shut now.  Im trying to find the damn thing but i don't know which door it is and don't want to put the whole thing back together just to realize i broke it more lol.  I found a flap right byt the blower motor and i can see that it shuts and seals off the cabin air filter so i would ASSume that is the recycler door but i don't see how it would circulate air if it were closed.  I know nothing about the air system in this car.

Cliff notes.  95 Passat fresh air or recirculate door is stuck open.  Need to find it. are they located close to the blower motor under the cabin air filter?  where are they commonly in most other cars?

hahaha, Yeah there has been a few things Ive had to fix, Headliner, rear wheel bearing, heater core. and i hear some noise from the front i wouldn't be surprised if the water pump is on its way out.  It has a wobble in the wheel so im figuring it needs some tie rod/ ball joint work or possible front wheel bearing.

and then of course there's this matter of the chains i have to attend to.

Its funny though, its one of the first cars that i really enjoy working on it.  Like i enjoyed working on the civic, but it wasn't as fun as this.  Im a pc monkey so actually getting a chance to twist a wrench is nice.

lol so Ive noticed.  I think its wheel bearings to go along with a possible water pump and eventual chains..  I hear the fronts are bitches to.

on a lighter note i fixed the heat.  It now gets hot in my car after i bled the air out of it.
