so I had just finished a truck (edelbrock heads, cam, lifters, intake) and we went to turn it over and it appeared to be a little off. I guess we got lucky and found it the first time but we pulled the plugs out of #1 and got little to no compression. Pulled the cover off and redid the rocker preload on #1 and immediately noticed the exhaust rocker was not sitting even with the intake lifter at TDC. Pulled the rockers and push rods out and put the bore scope down there and saw the lifter stuck all the way up without any oil pressure...
next morning i pulled the intake off and took the lifter out and this is what we found:

We found the keeper which holds the pintle inside off the lifter completely and laying in the lifter galley.
has anyone ever experienced this? I realize the edelbrock $160 cam/lifter package isnt the greatest but damn....

whats sad is the advanced auto lifter we replaced it with looked like a better quality lifter LOL
