Post by: turbob16hatch on December 11, 2009, 06:10:40 AM

Certainly looks nice.  Post that thing on D-series.org. They will come in packs for some of those.

not a criticism, it looks baller, but why do the welds look really wide?

it looks like your doing strait travel but it just seems very wide.

I thought someone might ask that. I do a tech. i was told is lay wire were you never pull the wire from the puddle while laying a bead. I then work the torch to get the desired height and width of the puddle. What happened on some is i had a mix of sch 40 straight and sch 10 bends. (they only had sch 40 straight at my local supplier).

So to get and even profile on the welds i increased the bevel width soem to help with looks. With out this i could have one or two welds that woudl be quite larger then the others and would ruin everything in my eyes.

They also look a bit wider as this is 1.25" sch pipe vs the standard 1.5" pipe. it is quite a bit smaller.
