Eh, I don't think his products are without merit (he has QC issues with the 1.2 turbo regrinds and the three bolt "no slip" cam gears are china crap nobody was stupid enough to buy ten years ago that's been sitting in a warehouse) but he's a hype artist in the fact that he promises cutting edge performance off of a camshaft in an old and reasonably well developed platform and nothing else.
That being said, can you ask your father what nonverbal cues he is picking up on? I'm curious about (body) language barriers.

I'm hearing 702 whp @ 8500 rpm, but he did spin it to over 9000 rpm and it made moar power.

It took Brad Z's porting + radically altered valve sizes and mid-40s psi to make 750 whp off of a 950 whp turbo with Rota's setup. The head is tiny, sorry, even if you fist out the ports. Add the small bore into the poor breathing and you're left with an engine that takes insane combustion pressures to make power, and then struggles to get rid of it. This is why I doubted the CR, and flatly deny the octane claims.
I really haven't looked at a flowchart etc for the BR five four niner that Bisi is running, but if it's not rated for 825+ I doubt he'll get 700 on a D16.

it been my experience with (not honda) 4 cylinders, even low hp high rpm motors, that they like to throw the springs out, or at least chew the shit out of them. all the shit you have to worry about with "700hp" why not just use a clutch disc without springs? or a twin, sure there are single disc that can handle the torque, but why. the only reason to use that clutch is because it a street car and he dosnt intend on using all "700hp" :?: meaning street tires and no freeway. fail

and i squeezed it out and now it became like a hard, waxy rock at the end and it was attached to like, this empty white balloon and i slowly pulled/squeezed it out
the balloon part like caught inside her and it almost inverted the hole in her breast- it's hard to explain it right.
and there was fucking black blood still squirting out- BLACK purple blood, not the red kind you fap to
now her breast is back to normal save for a small 'T' shaped cut/hole...

SG, I am tired of arguing with people on my threads on my vast experience with hundreds of high powered factory backed and enthusiast cars versus the singular experience on their own personal cars. Id be interested in hearing some EGT numbers and what KIND of ignition timing youre running (in addition to pressure measured say maybe at the turbine logged agaiinst boost?), but knowing you wont likely say as its your MO (and to a SLIGHT degree I understand)... Youre going to argue that thinwall material is going to reach apoint to where its glowing a easily as material thats around 3 times as thick??? Seriously??? Regardless of material thickness, it has the same specific heat, and while you'd think a thicker walled tube would dissipate temperature more, it has more mass to retain temperature as well. Being a chemical engineer, I'm sure Bisi could explain the thermodynamic principles behind it easily. But I doubt you, or many other people, would understand it enough for him to bother.

him running a sch10 top mount manifold it never once glowed the entire dyno session. we were running the engine pretty hard too.

The simple thermodynamics of the system is that the manifold can not radiate via convection the amount of heat it absorbs. In this light the surface area between thin vs thick argument is so trivial as to not merit mention, FTL. It takes the thick wall manifold a little longer to reach heatsoak - as well as a little longer to cool down.

700 whp with pump gas and meth is highly unbelievable, unless you are turning off the primary pump gas injection system and running straight methanol and not the water/meth setup implied.
How many D16, or other small displacement small bore motors, have you built or tuned? Not many if you're so fucking stupid.

ive made over 600whp on pump and meth and it seemed to be just fine clean plugs no detonation i nearly maxxed the turbo, i will be making 700 on meth as well with my new build it shouldnt be any issue i was still on a single nozzle, my ignition numbers didnt really differ much +/- a half a degree compared to my race gas tunes before the water meth, this was all on a 50/50 mix the setup worked great and was efficent...
I know i wont have a problem making 7 on meth ...Bisi making 7 on meth will be a bit more difficult than me due to the obvious but i surely dont think its impossible...

I hold the power record on a stock head 3S-GTE (416 whp), as well as stock ignition 2JZ-GTE with an AEM (557 whp). I hold the power record on the BRMS dyno (804 whp, BTW I ran their dyno for years and tuned all the cars), the power record on the C-Seng/1320 dyno (649, wheelspin when the nitrous hit), and the four cylinder power record on Appalachian Performance's dyno (564, wheelspin when the nitrous hit) - all three records are different cars, different owners. Every time I have an ECU or a standalone break, I *fix* it because to send it out for repair is to fail. I have cars that have been together for years, I've had multiple cars on multiple episodes of television - ask DMC about my live, unedited television performance. And a lot of other shit I've completely forgotten. *yawn*

I can tell from what you just said that you’ve never tried it yourself. When you’re trying to go for max power with pump gas in a turbocharged engine you get about five things that you need to keep in mind and pay attention to as they are your limiting factors, Cylinder pressure vs compression, Iat, Ignition timing, Boost pressure, And the actual knock limit where you heard detonation and or you see signs of it on the plugs.
Man it goes down like this, you get a d16 up to about 25-30 psi on a decently sized turbo and all these things start working against you. The car should be making about 400hp or a little less and timing will be getting really close to negative numbers. Turning up the boost doesn't make more power because you have to pull timing or you will get into knock. The added boost makes more compression as well creating more heat plus adding more boost raises iat’s and that really going to bring knock on 91 can't take it so you richen up the fuel you lose power. At this point you at the knock limit of 91 octane PUMP GAS
Then you start spraying meth injection and to a degree it helps out but not as much as advertised you could maybe get 50hp more out of it. Yeah sometimes more but it’s case by case. Water injection isn’t a magic race gas nozzle.
All the while pushing the edge for no good reason! Because on such a costly built engine and whole car for that matter. At that point it's not a daily driver and if you can afford to build it you can afford race gas.
The only reason to make a statement like that is to impress Honda scene uneducated and inexperienced fanboi's. And by doing that become a liar to sell car parts.

Building fast cars is all about determination and honesty if you have a part of you that will lie about something then your going to dig your own grave with your own dishonesty one way or the other. your customer base will eventually catch on and desert you.

You don't have a D, you've never tuned or built one one much less dozens, and you don't know a goddamn thing about them. They require a hell of a lot more cylinder pressure to make the same power as a B/F/K/alphabet soup due to the lower displacement AND the smaller surface area of the piston. You made 600whp faggot Dynojet numbers off of an H22, this has less than NOTHING to do with an engine that is 72% the size with 72% the combustion chamber volume to pack airmass into, and a piston with 75% the surface area for the combustion reaction to get leverage against. Compare the fucking port sizes sometime. I've made 305 whp @ 12 psi off of a D16 with a Crower turbo cam and a GT28, and I've not been able to break 280 whp at ANY boost level off of a car with equivalent or better everything and a Bisi cam. I've also noted how goddamn volatile D16 are, and when the compression is dropped to nothing (7.5:1 or less) they suddenly become non volatile - I certainly didn't do this by reading forums or inventing theories while my hands stay soft and clean.
To fully reiterate so there is no miscommunication, fuck you and your ignorance. I despise fools like you. You are a mouth piece with no intellect, no experience, and further I suspect you for a homosexual. Spiker tried to tell me you were a bright guy, but I interrupted before he finished to state that you bought the same off the shelf hyped parts that all of the local guys or cool kids on the forums purchased, and sent the car off to another man to tune because you really didn't know how any of that shit was supposed to work together. Gonna be close between your build and a Honda tuned HART motor, Doug and crew got 150 whp, octane unknown. You had HX head, they used Y8 head, both didn't do much tuning in part throttle area.

The Ax heads are all the same casting IIRC
F22A1: 125 hp (93.21 4 kW) @ 5200 rpm. NOTE* The 1992-1996 Prelude S had a F22A1 but because of a different more aggressively tuned ECU (P12), the power output was 135 hp (101 kW).
F22A4: 130 hp (96.94 kW) @ 5200 rpm. The F22A4 is the same motor as the F22A1 but it has slightly more power due to a tubular designed header and slightly bigger exhaust piping.
F22A6: 140 hp (104.40 kW) @ 5600 rpm. The F22A6 is the same as the F22A1 except for a slightly more aggressive camshaft, a better flowing cast exhaust manifold, a different more aggressively tuned ECU (PT6), and a different intake manifold that utilizes IAB's and also has a bigger plenum. The F22A6 also has a windage tray in the oil pan, and stiffer valve springs to accommodate the more aggressive camshaft.

well i dont know "alot" about building super high hp engines but, i can tell you one thing, you cant change the mass of anything without changing its heat capacity. who ever this guy is, he is fucking dumb. for starters, he just stated the obvious and called it an argument. no shit one chunk of stainless will absorb the same heat per pound as another chunk whether or not it has the same mass. congratulation dunb ass, you know more than a fourth grader.

and right here he clearly states that the overall heat capacity has increased, apparently blowing a hole in his own fucking argument thats really a statement that dosent apply to the argument. and since a mass dosnt retain temperature :?: it only retains heat. you could say, the extra mass is more resistant to a change in temperature, and sound much less retarded. the simple math in this problem says that if two masses have the same specific heat but have different weights (mass) the heat required to increase the temp of the smaller mass one degree is less than the heat required to increase the temp of the larger mass one degree. this guy has no idea what the fuck hes talking about. also, the thin shit has more relative surface area (area per unit mass) so it requires less heat input per degree of temp rise (because of the smaller mass) and it absorbs that heat more efficiently (because of more area per unit mass). this is why pipes are thick and tubes are thin because most pipe standards go back to the steam heating industry. the thicker the pipe the more resistant it is to a change in temp. most OEMs use a cast manifold for exactly this reason.

in the 80's when they finally gave up on the offy (by "they" i mean the entire indy racing/engineering/sponsor/team manager community) it was making 800 hp from a ~2.6L DOHC inline four running at 40psi on methanol fuel. if i were bisi, i would forgive people for being sceptical, when i dont have a dyno chart and i tell them i've made a significant improvement.

What part of I've done it do you not understand? I have repeatedly run up against knock limit on D16 with pump gas and with water/meth combined with both gasses. It's pretty easy to see where timing requirement falls off fast, power stops coming up with gains in boost, and holes get blasted in the carbon coat of a piston from mild detonation with the accompanying rise in crankcase pressure causing the pistons to wet themselves around the edges.
The only criteria by which I haven't done it is generating a liar dyno sheet.

but here is the short version:
back in the 1930's avgas was measured the same way autogas was by just ON and then how much TEL was added 100/0.5 is 100ON+0.5cc per gallon. then WWII, shit hit the fan and airplains had to fly faster, stronger, longer (kinda like all the gay porn and ghetto booty on this thread) nobody really knew whut the fuck tetra-ethel-lead was, or what it meant to performance, or even what amount said engine was rated with. the pilots would refuse any fuel that did not have the highest numbers (because they didnt want to make it though the battle and fall out of the sky on the way home because of engine failure) ground crews would mark the trucks with what ever they thought the pilots wanted to see, Rick P. was in charge of it all, chaos reigned, at this point the british were getting pissed (for some reason they were the biggest war time supplier of TEL) alot of TEL was blowing out the back of cargo plains because the pilots didnt know how much he needed. the brits and americans came up with the performance number system. they took iso-octane and gave it a arbitrary value of 100 and heptane a value of 0 and said we will rate all engines with iso-octane (on 100 octane) not only not only did it change all the other systems but it made a lean/rich rating, 115/145 or, 115/115, or what ever. with this system the engine was rated at 100 MON (lean motoring octane) so if you had 100/115 gas you could run 100% the rated power lean or 115% rated power rich. the performance number was not the octane number of the fuel and had nothing to do with how much TEL was in it, it was just an indacator of how that engine would run with it. so now all engines had a rating based on iso-octane and so did all fuels, everybody was happy, Budweiser fell from the sky and Hitler shot him self, fagot.

today octane has nothing to do with the hp rating of any engine or even the output of a CFR engine. i dont claim to really know anything about this mostly because of how fucked up and complicated it's become. RON has only to do with what percentage of iso-octane(100MON) and heptane(0MON) to make the CFR engine run at the same klimep (compression ratio in most cases) as the fuel being tested. MON is measured as the difference in output of 100MON fuel and the test fuel at 900rpm in an engine, but they use a CFR engine. today no engine hp is rated with 100MON fuel so none of these numbers mean anything in YOUR engine. all you can say is that if racerX makes X hp on 92 pump (88 MON) with a lean mixture, then racer Y same motor same conditions exactly running VP C12 (108 MON) may be able to increase boost/CR/timing and get 20% more power on a lean mixture. in practice this is much different because MON is not a preformance number, you dont run lean, the CFR engine is not the same as your engine, the CFR engine is never boosted, the volatility of the fuel, the charge preparation, the difference in bore size, the jacket tempature, the temp and humidity, intercooler on and on and on...
so you get the idea, the last time an octane number meant something to an engine was WWII.

in all of my fucking around i can tell you that octane seriously changes what compression ratios you can run in naturally aspirated engines. in a boosted engine manifold pressure changes the inlet air density and so the effective compression ratio. so you get the picture, at some point the bmep just isnt going to get any higher without more octane. and from my limited understanding of water injection (i have never used it), you can replace 100% of the rich fuel by weight. so if you made a run at 10.5:1 AFR that did not detonate, then you could make another run at ~13.5:1 AFR with the additional fuel of the previous run replaced by the water/meth and thus take advantage of the no longer unnecessarily rich mixture. this means you can have better power, more timing, lower EGT (mostly from more timing) and still not detonate. nowhere dose it say more octane. thats because the fuel is still the fuel you started with, nothing has really changed that. ^^if you read the horseshit above^^ all you can do with water injection is change a 100/115 fuel to a 115/115 fuel, its still 115 you just changed how its burnt, not its octane.

hp for these motors REALLY can not be known for sure, but people i've read/talkto say if your making less than 1350 hp dont even bother. with most of them turning over 10000 now i think this is close.
infact you can run the numbers on any naturally aspirated engine and you'll never get much more than 200 psi on just gas.
now lets run some numbers on bisi new level 9.779 small block running on 91(R+M)/2 (pump gas of coarse):
2527 x 5252 / 8500 = 1562 ftlbs
150.8 x 1562 / 350 = 673 psi bmep

this is the conversion i use,
DJHP = bhp x 1.30 x ((happiness / 100) + 1)
were:
DJHP- is hp in dynojet land (were bisi is the president)
bhp- is brake horsepower at the crank in the real world (were shit still matters)
1.30- is the "new math" for hp
happiness- is the relative mood of the operator on that particular day
(usually there is somthing like a humidity constant or drive train loss in this spot, but this is dynojet land and we let people correct whut ever the fuck they want, and dont save the corrections with that run file. the number is a % thats based on relative mood of the operator, so is it sunny, rainy, did i buy some shit from the guy, did i do his wife in the pooper, did he do my wife in the pooper, all manner of things can change this number)
so thats right, a 230% increase, :o ok mabye thats a little out there, but dynojet numbers are generally 30% higher across the board, and because dynojet knows more about horsepower then everybody else, they dont see a reason to explain why there numbers are so high, just like bisi wont explain why his numbers are so high, or how much he had to smoke to get so high. and dont forget the drive-train loss, witch is not linear, so if you made the run at 9500 your drive loss would be much higher then a run at 6500 depending on how the operator (feels) decided to correct for it. i have read about allot of cars that will get 300hp on one dyno, then get rated on a dynojet with all the correction turned off !!!, and for no good reason at all, get 380hp! the numbers are that far off.

dynojets are so bad, many people dont quote them at all, or if they do they quote it in DJHP just because theres 30% right of the top and no way to know for sure what the other corrections were in the run.
lots of dyno makers pull this same shit, land and sea has "environments" were basically anything can happen (even water buffalo power) but the files are not corrected like a dynojet. they even come with an environment called dynojet.env if thats not an inducation of how screwed up things really are, i dont know what is. almost every other dyno that im familiar with "SAVES THE ACTUAL CRANKSHAFT OR DRIVE ROLL TORQUE, UNCORRECTED" except dynojet. moral of this story, dont fucking buy a dynojet, if for no other reason then no one will believe your numbers at all.

That's a recurring theme with Taylor, try to check up on half of his bibliography and you find references that don't mean what he says the do. And yet it's considered a primary source, just because Ricardo tutored him at some point which he drums up in the book's dedication. Academia + politics = disservice.

As far as I know it was a 1.8 liter LSV.
IIRC peak power was somewhere around 9500 RPM.
My math shows a bmep of 590.2.
Granted, this was on race gas, and I am making lots of ASSumptions.
What are the accepted limits for different octane ratings?
again these are all just numbers, when i ran the math:
800 x 5252 / 9500 = 442 ftlbs
150.8 x 442 / 109 = 611.5 psi bmep
not near bisi's bullshit but close, the biggest problem here is the dynojet, and that he was running unknow octane racegas. the best KLimep (knock limited indicated mean effective pressure) indacator for fuel is "performance number" its not really used anymore as alot of shit has changed since WWII.
The car trapped 155 and the best ET was 9.85, FWIW.

oops i guess i should have waited until i was a little more awake to post that. the point i was coming to with all that bullshit was that you can run what whatever fucking bmep you want (unless your n/a, pumping loss will get you and not make much more than 200 psi) but you'll pay the price for it both thermally and mechanically.
what im getting at is, we are all ASS holes and at some point we all have to make some ASSumptions. like say "for drag racing, 300 psi bmep is the absolute limit of pump gas (88MON)" thats basicaly a 930hp small block 350 at 7000 rpm !!!!
or a 370hp 2.0l at 8000 rpm. like i said, its different for every motor but not that different.
so the last engine that had some real numbers (by real, i mean the people that ran them are no longer afraid to quote them) was the unlimited offy, runnig about 488 psi bmep on methanol (105MON). so you could say with some degree of certainty that an engine running 488 psi bmep on C12 (108MON) and round about the same displacement (2.6l) would be "reliable". reliable enough to do a good amount of street rapping anyway. for drag racing it would be a brick shit house that your children's children could drive. so running 611psi on say ~108MON, wellllll... to start its a dynojet that reads high so youd have to take away from that 800whp, then youd have to find out the drive loss (if the 800hp number is true whp and not corrected) and add to it, then make some more assumptions about the rotating mass and add significantly to the number again, then do the SAE for the conditions. and then you'll have a number that while hardly accurate, is closer to your crank hp. easily 50 to 100+800 hp it may very well be possible, but you would be leaning on that dynamite pretty hard.
as for the Taylor, yes hes a fag, but his book is more or less complete and easier to read than Ricardo. Ricardo, miller, along with two or three others did all the work. every other Dr Fuck Head Phd. just regurgitates what ever these guys said and says its "published work" and then calls it a day...fagots

as for the dynojet, i respectfully disagree, the corrections are not saved with the run, and the true output horsepower is lost forever. the drums are pretty much the smallest you can buy for an inertia dyno and most of them dont have eddy curent absorbers. the ones that do, they just use it like a bandaid for not having a big enough roller. its not a good idea to make any decisions based on a number that came from anything other than an engine dyno. the errors, whether from the operator, or the software, or the test itself (tranny size/oil, engine size/oil, tire size/weight) are just to big to ignore, and dynojets errors are the biggest. and because they read high, no meaningful comparisons about bmep can be made.
besides we all know bisi is going to run race gas anyway... fagot

Bisi uses a Dynapack, even easier to trick it. He stated he uses the suggested default setting, I believe he said it was 1000 rpms every 2 seconds.
15% driveline loss on a Dynojet, 118 whp = 135 chp
20% driveline loss on a Mustang, 121 whp = 145 chp
+10 chp from a cam change on a D15, about right.

Jd this is where you missed out at Pri, one of the principles of a major racing fuel company, spent about an hr with us and actaully explained how the testing is done, and how it actually relates to what we are doing. Its basically very close to what Nock said, but with more variables. It was really nice to have someone that was really in the know reaffirm what i've always read/thought. The funniest was that he gave us a number, and he said that if anyone ever used a number higher than that for octane rating to basically tell them they were an idiot and to laugh at them.
We then seen him working on a 20yr old girl at a bar later that same night, so i have faith in what the guy says (he was 55-60 yrs old) ;D

in WWII America/Briton would rate the german fuel to, some were given rattings as high as 250/270 :o i have no idea how much fucking octane that would be. same point, there is no real way to relate hp and octane because of the way things are done now. but how ever much fucking octane is in 250/270 you could call it pretty much a "det proof" fuel. i wonder if VP C23 ratted at "MON120+" is the same thing.

You're certainly welcome to ask polite questions, and you're certainly welcome to persist, politely, if you feel that an answer is not fully properly complete.
The thread originator is not necessarily required to answer your questions, but in that case he should not get upset if a moderator locks the thread.
We should assume that disclosure, the actual dissemination of correct information, is always the reason to start a thread.
If somebody starts a thread while he is in the process of realisation, that is understandable, and in that case some back and forth discussion is entirely understandable and encouraged, but it has to be polite.
I just changed the O to a 0 (zero) OF rMHT in my signature (I too had the asterisk thing).... when I tried to edit it it said illegal word or some shit... lol.

Since most Honda mags are based out of southern california he will continue to get tons of press. What once was an area full of performance based shops is literally down to a couple dyno's and very few shops left. Bisi being one of the guys who still is racing and doing the Honda thing he will continue to get articles since really there are very few left down there.

Uh, Knighton is hugely biased on several subjects, and does not always make logical decisions even when it is a situation that he is either truely unbiased or where the bias is obvious. I and a local guy got banned because he asked a question in the Accord forum about disabling immobilizers and when people started on about how that's how ITRs get stolen and the ITR guys wouldn't like us discussing it, I pointed out that:
1) By that logic OBD1 conversions shouldn't be discussed.
2) We should file a class action lawsuit against Jerr-Dan, since anything worth stealing leaves on a rollback anyway.
3) The ITR Forum was full of faggots and should be deleted as it contained no tech of any merit.
So, Knighton was then-ITR mod and pushed the ban button on myself and Jason Earley/Em0ne. I find the guy's AIM and tell him I don't care about being banned and stand behind every word I said, but you didn't need to ban the other guy (Jason) because he didn't do or say shit and you need to unban him. So, Knighton in his infinite wisdom unbans me and resets my post count, and leaves Jason banned to this day.
It was also kinda cool because I mentioned it to blundar and he created a "George Knighton" account with hidden ANSI characters that didn't show up, and made a thread about his new Type-R which was a tricycle (if I remember correctly) done up in the british flag. Good times.
