Title: desoldering iron?

SO im sick of the mess my RS bulb desolder makes any one her use the hakko 808 gun i see good reviews but on the interwebs but rather have noggish feed back.

regular decent iron and a small vacuum reduced to a gutted melted bic pen..
DONE!

1.  Cut the bulb on you rs iron in half. 

2.  Tape your vacuum cleaner hose in the end of the bulb.

3.  lay it on the pin you want to de-solder. 

4.  Let it melt.

5.  turn on the vacuum... 

6.  turn off vacuum. 

Repeat 3-6 27 times...

then send me a hooker n a pbr for saving you $164...

my radio shack desoldering iron works pretty good and it was like $15

i use the hakko 808.  Works great.  Better than the bullshit copper braids.  Especially on thin boards where the traces are easier to burn.

I used blundar's Xytronics desoldering station.  I liked it, same build as my Aoyue SMD station just badge engineered.

  i wouldnt trade my RS soldering pen for anything it just needs tips but there desloder bulb makes a fucking mess of shit to much heat on the board for the time it takes to melt solder on the j1 4 corners of socket and the c52

LOL  I just used alot of duck tape and a bic ben.
I think Im gonna go buy a desoldering ball.

only thing is if it was for me i would keep it but when it takes 30min to desolder a board the gun would take 15
