Title: USB ports not working.

yea so about 2 weeks ago my toshitba laptops usb ports decided to stop working. when i go into hardware management thing it shows a yellow exclamation point next to it. i searched online and people said to uninstall it and restart so it will reinstall it. didnt work. i tried updating drivers. didnt work. tried service pack 2 upgrade (vistgay). didnt work. i even formatted my harddrive and reinstalled this homo as OS and they are still broke. so is my laptops MB shot or something? is there some kind of usb card controlling them thats replaceable?

go to the toshiba website and download the drivers
usually included in the acpi package

You could add a pcmcia usb card. It could laso need the MB drivers updated as well. If those don't work..

Give this a shot, right click on my computer, select properties.

untick all computer to turn off this device to save power.

Do it for all hubs and reboot.

didnt work.


i also cant find the drivers on toshibas site. my warranty ran out the end of sept so im SOL on getting it fixed. kind of annoying cause now i cant use my printer or my mouse.

I'm not seeing any motherboard related drivers, meaning it's probably a generic Intel/etc chipset.  Open up the properties for the USB devices that have ! next to them, can you tell us exactly what it says?

under system devices, does it say anything about intel or via?
