Title: Cheapest source for injectors?
Post by: ryan89crx on March 29, 2009, 06:09:48 PM
been looking for a set of 750cc injectors, and have been finding them in the $250 range. is this about right or are there cheaper sources out there?

EBAY, seen several sets from the 750-1000 range in the last month or so for $150
But if you go that route I suggest getting them cleaned

I don't like stock 20 year old injectors that have been overbored to the point their atomization sucks and they are difficult/inconsistent to control at low duty cycles.

Ryan, just go through DIYautotune, they seem to have really good prices and their service is top notch.

Most work fine WOT, sir, but if you have wierd light throttle and idle problems with AFRs switching from one extreme to the other like someone flipped a switch... that's my main complaint.

Sometimes the overbored stockers mave very poor atomisation.  When reading plugs the ceramic has wierd "foglike" soot on the ceramic.   Overboring is how we get so many different size "professional" injectors, but they are more conservative in how much they overbore.  Taking a 240cc to a 450cc is pretty borderline, although most work almost as well as a 20 year old DSM 450, but the 240cc to 550cc or 660cc units make me want to drive to the injector owner's house and fist their mother.

Same style I have, they are awsome. Deka's are a newer design than all but the 'slim' style injectors. First injectore I ever set up for Uberdata, and it idled better than stock ecu + stock 240cc's. There's also the uncapped WRX injectors, as well as craigslist/locals for most other kinds.
