Title: budget ss dump tube.

needed a dump tube

took some steel wool to it.. everything lined up perfectly

does honda make their exhaust out of SS?
Some of the newer accords appear to have stainless exhaust.

it sat on the bottom of a car for 12+ years and didn't rust or corrode.

straight down should be fine. just good enough to keep the exhaust away from the compressor inlet

Post by: Passenger on April 08, 2009, 07:29:41 PM: You need pickling paste, that's the trade name we give it, real breakdown is "Antox 71E Plus". Shit is super corrosive, wear safety goggles, long sleeves and gloves when applying.

A mechanical polish (or sandpaper) could remove some of the deposited surface, certainly better than nothing, as long as you've never used it on a carbon steel previously. Pickling paste is a bit expensive, especially if you don't really need it more than once.

And yes, I know I am bit late to the new forum, I got lost on teh interwebs...
