it was a base cooling mist kit off ebay.
i set it at 6psi hobb switch that came with it
single nozzle, i dont even know what size, you can see it right there before the 90 into the throttle body.

its a buick 3800 sensor and pigtail out of a junkard, thats where i get all my sensors when i do megasquirt builds,

the 3 bar and pigtail is from EFI source, its like 40~ shipped.

i have a turbowerx scavenge pump pushing the oil back to the oil fill cap in the valve cover.

This is a sweet truck, In for dyno numbers and some vids from outside the truck. Getty a buddy to tail you with a camera  ;DDD

my girl has the 5.3 was thinking of what to do with it. 4wd is beast, lol.

Theres a guy out my way with a 5.8 i think it is. With corvette heads and twin turbo etc etc idk all the details of his build but i do know that at 60mph in 4wd he blisters all 4 tires. First time i seen him do it i thought he blew the motor there was so much white smoke

turbos were too small,
587whp @5000 and 800ftlbs of tq @3000 on 16psi

my 5.3 fairmont did 654whp on only 14psi and it was a 5.3, with a smaller cam.

so i was expecting alot more.

also they are so lively that they surge while driving haha and sound like they compressor surge when i turn it off at idle nearly.

either way that giant tq number means they are too small to me.

feels like a turtle up top

Cant wait to see how much power you make!

How you think a hx-52 with its 67mm due on a stock 6.0?

pretty happy with it right now, sounds good and its running good
(https://sphotos-b.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-prn1/483540_10151370586929211_75580910_n.jpg)

i obviously need to turn up the boost and work on the tune but i took it out to see if anything funny would happen and make sure nothing was leaking etc.

doing great, i bumped in a bunch of extra fuel up top and its there! haha, like 10.0 air fuel when i hit it but that is fine with me for now.

check out my shit exhaust

im not a peak power dyno numbers sell kinda guy

nor am i a salesman,

she makes what she makes haha

i am sure with a larger turbine wheel it would really shine, but man it has a ton of power under the curve, i doubt that d16 can make boost at 1600rpm like this can haha

i built a 300whp D16z6 civic and man it was fun but this is a different kind of fun.

The 300whp civic you can toss around corners - with the 530whp truck you just hop the curb!

Some horsepower mag tested the limits of the 4.8 and did a few dozen pulls over 1k whp w/o issue. 530 is barely pushing it.

yeah the 4.8 and the 5.3 both survived many 1000hp pulls engine dyno though

Why the one way valve?

Just put a 1/8th npt port somewhere pre turbo, and run a foot or so of either thin copper line or brake line, or what ever you have around, and then attach normal boost line, or rubber hose again whatever you have around, and then a cheap liquid filled gauge. If the whole thing costs more then $15, you did it wrong, or went fancy.

thats all

What was the purpose of drilling out the chinese wastegate?  I guess I've gotten used to my unmodified Tials.

A buddy of mine who runs the crappy local dyno has an 04 1500 quad cab and had a similar setup on a stroked 6.0 bottom end along with LS6 heads (which are factory on the aluminum L33 block that came stock in the truck).  Full built internals he had the undermount turbo pushing 530 to the wheels but ditched the setup for a 75 shot because the truck was in boost while towing and he didn't want to spend the money to upgrade the fuel system, now is at 550whp with spray.

Fastest truck I've ever been in, if not in 4wd high it just spins the rears.

Think he drilled the Wg, because it was hanging up and the valve was binding.

Right, so was it the guide shaft that the valve was sitting in that was expanding under heat or something?  I don't have any of those v-band gook boost WG's but I have an internal shot of my Tial 38mm
(https://realhomemadeturbo.com/forum/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi41.tinypic.com%2F2u4n4v6.jpg&hash=e2d83cc5d7174c0cb00a479e75c63952e7513c9c)
On the Tials the most I've ever done is remove that center bolt in the middle of the spring to let loose of the diaphragm to be replaced.  I saw in a pic on one of the previous pages where the valve was out so I'm assuming that it was the guide shaft that was binding??

truck gets good traction on 14psi, when its hot out and i have 31 inch tires on out back, if i ease into 2nd, amazing it hooks up that good, because if i get it lit i can spin them for what seems thousands of feet lol
