Hi, today i tested new setup z6 vitara pistons with eagle rods, runing just with stock map at low-middle pedal only non vtec map, and after to run 20 min engine begin overheat, gauge doesnt up to red line, it's just go around 3/4 temperature.. i was wondering if it has to do with runing with lower engine timing because vitara/eagle setup is 7.8CR iirc. any leak, thermostate is new one, i will replace radiator cap it's new but i dont like these "race caps" 1.3 bar, 1.1bar is good to me.
anyone runing with same setup and having problems with this?

Have similar issue once I go the hose routing a little off. The small house behind the thermostat were routed wrong.
After the car is getting hot, run the heater, do you feel a lot of heat? if not working then check the hose routing.
If the heater is working then check and see if the radiator fan working.
If the fan is not working go to the fan switch behind the thermostat.
Disconnect the the fan switch harness and jumper the plug.
If the fan still will not come on, make sure your ground for the fan is bolted to chassis by the passenger headlights.
If that fan is still not coming on, disconnect fan harness and run to a 12v source and see if the fan kick on.
IF it does then check fan relay.
IF the fan works when it is suppose to and the hose routing is correct, then you may just have air to purge out of the system. :noel:

weird, i will check it later, everything is working good even fan, i even put a 14" one and it cools good..i was checking basemap i did and i dont know why but there is some areas with 15-20 degrees advance needed.. :?: i will make another basemap using Z6 one. also pretty sure heater radiator is routing good but i will double check it later.

Did a better map yesterday still having problem after 20-25 minutes driving low-mid throttle..hoses are ok, fan is working but it looks like doesnt cool enought, ill get new fan and check it..also did bleed coolant system too..i dont know if it has to do that radiator isnt straight as stock ..

If its in stop and go and it overheats then it's your fan, if your driving down the road non stop on a freeway and it overheats it's lack of airflow.

fan cools but low temp only 2º degrees Celsius, stop and again go because engine heats fast, in freeway i drive as told before around 20-25min, and keeps ok but after that it begin overheat, fan is always working but it looks like it cools slow and fan rev slow to me too..i will try a new fan and see what's happend, otherwhite i will put radiator as stock position, problem is i have to modify traction bar i made..hope fan fix this problem so i save time and money in traction bar modification..

What cam/cam timing good?

head, was minimun removed, timing mark is off by less than 1/2 teeth....

Fan wired backwards? Fan blade not flipped correctly?

Have you bled all the air out of the rad?

yes i did, i will receive new 14" mishimoto fan tomorrow and test it, hope that fix problem! >:(

still problem..made some videos.. when it's idle it doesnt overheat but fan works almost every 30 seconds or so... when i rev it around 4000-4500 for a while it begin overheat..fans works, bleeded correctly.. im thnking could be radiador , water pump?

Had some of the same issues until I boxed in the radiator so that it got direct cool air.
Even if the air is coming through a hole 1/4 of the size of the radiator will, work at driving speed the the air would only be moving thru radiator 1/4 of the vehicle speed (w/o fan).
Two fans is a bit over kill, I'd stick with just one, preferably the fan with the most blades. :noel:

Problem i put other fan is with a big 14" one is having same problem so definitely i know fan isnt problem. i will remove it and test another radiator maybe that's problem.. :-\

So does it overheat when you are driving it at 60 mph? What about at 30 mph? I'm guessing lack of airflow. If it overheats when your driving, Remove your intercooler and replace it with a piece of charge pipe and take it for a drive and see if it overheats. If it doesn't overheat then it's lack of airflow. If it still overheats then it's something else. Also you should have some sort of thermostat in there. If you don't then that could be your culprit.

problem was water pump.. :o anyway i will install straight radiator as stock position for better cooling!

problem still noticed bubble in coolant reservoir.. i assume it's time to get a new one hg.. :-\

take your radiator cap off, get the engine running and up to temp. You should see coolant flowing around. You might also purge some air bubbles doing this. If the coolant is flowing and you have plenty of air flow through the radiator, it should cool.

got a radiator test pressure kit and found a very small leak, i assume coolant system take air from that.. i did some videos, any bubble...cold and hot engine

Did you fix your radiator placement? Because if you have it in the same spot as the picture above, your fighting a loosing battle. Heat wrap your downpipe, turbo manifold and turbo. Get your radiator straight and then do a fan shroud on a puller style fan.

Are you running all the coolant lines that T out of the thermostat housing? The 5/8ths (16mm) hoses to the heater core and the loop hose to the cylinder head? The loop hose to the cylinder head/intake manifold is very important to control coolant flow and proper thermostat control. I would suggest you install a thermostat since you specifically said you dont have one in there. I made well over 500whp with an OEM style cooling system.
