The problem with more power in these is the reliability of the gearcase.  They run full load all the time, in and out of the water, so the gears load and unload.  Mercury is #1 on the water for a reason, I've been on race teams where the tech is developed.  Nobody tests their shit like Mercury does before putting it on the water.
