You need:
Welder
Grinder
Steel bar of some kind , round flat..doesn't matter, just make sure it's rigid.
Plumbing fitting.. I forget the size. But measure the hex opening on the pulley and go to home depot and get the same
Instructions:
1) Grind out part of steel bar so fitting sits somewhat inside
Weld fitting to bar...
use...
Paint if neccessary.. My old man made this one and he paints everything ,then hangs it on the garage wall.. Old man not needed

I'd rather have the DIY type, that way you can use your breaker bar on the crank bolt.
Luckly I've never had to pull it off in-car. I made the flywheel tool that engages a tooth, so it will snap a grade 10.8 bolt before moving.

I think the hex is some metric size, but 2.00" fits it pretty good.
I made one with a 2.0" nut, and junk shift linkage i had:

doesn't your impact gun just take it off? I've only take one off ever, but I don't remember it being a problem at all

You really don't want to risk the bearings with an impact driver, but you still need to put it back on with a torque wrench...
I just made a 1.5"x1.25" bushing-style tool, mother fuckers who owned this H22 last need to die in a fire. Bent the bushing AND 1/4" angle iron (welds held ;D), and bolt didn't even budge with me BOUNCING on a 4 FOOT extension. Once I impact'd it out, come to find out there's nary a drop of lube on the threads, contrary to Helm's requirement. Fuck clueless honda owners. /rant
Found out they built a Fastenal less than a mile away, got a pair of "heavy hex nuts" in 1.25" thread size, fits perfect. A regular nut is only 1.875" OD, heavy hex is cunt hair under 2" OD. My grandpa is machining one down to fit in the h22's tight space (and an impact socket just in case), so I'll post pics later. I'll also snap some of my flywheel holder. A real gem when the tranny is removed.

got the same one used off of ebay for 11 bucks shipped. Dude listed it under accessories or something so it didnt get any views aside from mine ;D

There should be no worry about hurting the bearings. The inertia of the crankshaft and flywheel are so high that their acceleration is negligible. Impact off....Impact on.

you guys are overthinking this. all you need to do is put a breaker bar on the crank nut, lay it on the ground and go tap the starter. dont start the car just crank it like once and it will be off, no straining no nothing.

I've always been able to get them off with a breaker bar and screwdriver in the flywheel, but that looks handy.
My new engine, we could not get that shit off. Tried a 4-foot breaker bar, with pipe extension, and it wouldn't budge. After a week of different "ideas" I gave up and let the machine shop deal with it.

that doesnt work on D's, B's, F's or H's. they spin counter-clockwise. thats a great way to tighten the bolt or even snap it off if you need to, but not a good way to loosen it. it does work on almost every other car in the world though.

Lex,
Remember a custom 6 and 8 rib one piece pulley wouldnt have the harmonic balancer insert which means you would give your crank a real work out.
I think the bowl pulley is the right way to go.
