Alright so I bought this piece of shit about a year ago and then drove it all summer before selling it to my buddy Pistol. He rocked it all winter and then put some daytons on it. Then we decided it needed an fmu setup cause we had most of the other shit lying around. It's a garrett t3 .42 .48 internal gate at 7lbs, obx fmu, pool hose, brake line oil feed, no intercooler, shitty ramhorn mani that 90dx found. Thanks to dvst8r for all the welding. So we took some time and threw this abortion together. Has some serious fuel problems but pulls decently when it works. Rocking it around town with no hood for now. Oh yeah it's the original d16 with 405,000 km's.

So after this, it was time for turbo rippers. Me, dvst8r, and 90dx hit the streets, first ripper we blew off a silicone hose so we stopped and fixed that. second ripper went all ok. third ripper me and dvst8r ran into a problem, 3rd gear pull we blew a head gasket.

so we pushed it back and started changing that.

so we get the new one all tightened up then look and notice this.

so now were changing out this motor, and grabbing a d15 from 90dx's and trying again!!

Well the hornet got to autocross last thursday. I was racing my car and got a flat tire and we got the bright idea if they let me take another vehicle to use the black hornet. So that is what I did. They don't have seperate classes here as autox is not that big. So out of 12 racers(3 corvettes, 2 300zxTT, Cooper S, 08 STI, E92 M3, crx, civic, Tuscani, and me) we came 7th. We beat the M3 by .04 of a second .

Anyways here is a video of the last run which was the best and no cones hit

Brine04 and I have both moved away, Pistol is too busy banging that 17year old pictured above. Urban obviously has his own car issues to deal with. Trevor72 has his own build thread, and 90dx is waiting patiently for the summer of 2010 to release his build.  :P

Someday I may venture back up to PG and claim the motor and a few other parts, but that chassis is just too hammered from too many off road trips, and too many trips into snow banks, ect...

Out of everyone involved with that, only brine04 and 90dx still have honda's.

-Brine04 has an acura that was a dd now sits with a blown headgasket, and his red turbo teg, which is a pretty dirty build all things considered, that was under construction even at that time. His DD is 1999 Dodge diesel dually. Sledding is the love of his life and I doubt he will ever do another car build, or even finish his current one.  :P

-90dx still has the great white hype, and it made a debut pass finally last year and went 11.01@129mph, it is getting a bigger turbo and an upgraded trans and he is shooting for a 9, and then will sell it and be done building for a while. But his DD is a Lexus LX470.

-Pistol is getting married and looking for a brodozer. Currently has a Tigaun (he has always had the vw gay) and a chev 1500 Still has a vw schiraco (don't care how it is spelled) that he dreams of one day building, but needs a brodozer and a garage first.

-Actually tmathis does have a honda a stock 5spd crv (is also the most likely of any of us to build another dirty build)

-I have a chev2500 diesel, but I typically daily ride in a dash8 or q400 and drive whatever national rents me. I am home at best typically friday to monday, and have more than enough projects around me to never want another car project of my own.

I hate to say it, but we have all grown up since then and everyone else makes good money as compared to then, all have wives or gf's or both. The closest any of us live to each other is about an hour drive, and some of us are an 8 hour drive away now. It was an amazing build and an amazing time, hell we turbo'd tmathis's black eg on the morning of my wedding. But the reality is that community has moved on. We all still enjoy getting together, it just doesn't happen very often.

With all of that being said. I too miss the old days of beater builds, and 5 of us stuffed in that tiny car racing anything that would give us the time of day.

I have stayed at his house. In a room with no furniture.

I am going to see who is available for the dyno day. I am sure we could use a road trip by then. Tmathis was in bellingham yesterday, but just to catch a flight to Vegas. I am meeting him there in a few hours.

Troof, 3 months later I was going to start the headgasket tonight but got drunk and watched 2015 sled debut instead. At least I still remember how to flate rate a hg next time I stay sober.
