I have about 75,000 in tools including my box. The shop I work at fixes everything, mods everything, fabricates everything. I get payed flat rate, in theory the more tools you have the more you get payed. I like getting payed but some places have more shop tools then my place also, The only thing I dont like is all the guys at the shop just use my shit and they just have the basics.

I love putting my tool in a box!  :noel:

Pegboard/hooks. 16' workbench.

Crapsman sockets, ridged screwdrivers, snap on ratchets, crapsman ratcheting wrenches. = 95% of the jobs I do are in my garage. If I have to take them with me, it goes an a bag and away I go.

Same here I use a peg board for most of my tools and have small boxes for different tool groups.

I have  more tools than hooks. I'll get that fixed soon. ;D

All this talk of new box, made me feel the need to go get a new box too...

Okay really I saw a flyer for a post Canada day sale (I know, I know who would give Canadians there own day). It was Today only for $299. I went to the Home Depot right by my house, literally 5min walking distance. I was there at 7:03am, on the way to drop the wife off at work, they open at 7am and they were already sold out. I saw about 5 guys loading them into there vehicles in the parking lot  >:( . The wife suggests we try this newly built Home Depot about 30min drive from where we are at I argue that there is a closer one, she counters that it is like the busiest one in Calgary. So I loose and we goto the just built one, get there and I get the last one:

It is no Snap On/ Mac / Matco box, but for $299 I can't complain. I have one Snap On KRA series box, that you can just make out in the left side of that picture. The reason I bought this new box was this other new toy:

I needed the room in my little craftsman box for machining tools. Big thanks to Dave (Passenger) and Tmathis for helping me line up the purchase and get that beast to my house, @ 4500lbs it isn't that much fun to move.

I understand the need for a good box, but it doesnt have to cost that much, a box is a box is a box, it wont make you a better mechanic, just like an expensive fishing pole wont make you a better fisher.  They are just tools that do not have a much higher return when comparing a lesser priced one to a more expensive one.  Take alcohol for example, a $40 bottle will be up to twice as good tasting as a $20 bottle, but they both do the same thing, get you drunk.

Mreh.

You are correct.  The tool truck boxes come with tool truck tax.

Exactly.

FUCK YOU!

Any tooling come with it?  I would kill to have access to a mill and a lathe.

No tooling at all. So it will be another ~$2k or so just for some basic tooling, and I still need to pick up a rotary converter. Lathe is on the list, but behind a proper car hoist. I still need to build another garage / shed for dirt bikes and snowmobiles and things like that, so I have enough room to actually fit both the mill and a lathe, and a fab area.

I'd love a mill.  Could build AR AK47 VZ58 1911 receivers all day long, and a whole shitload more firearm receivers.
