Good d16 cluctch for 350wtq??
« on: May 09, 2010, 09:56:57 PM »

Fucking piece of shit godamn cocksucker clutch is slipping. its a 4 puck ceramic I got off xenocron when he had a "falling of the truck" sale a coupple years ago. I need a clutch that will not slip with the kind of power i'm now making, 337torque and 373 whp, I want a little wiggle room because I plan on upping the power slightly. Everything I find while searching is alot of bullshit hype opinionated crap, I dont want to do this again.

I reuse my ACT pressure plate. I do use a signature 4 or 6 puck unsprung disc. Chris' MDM clutch. For being unsprung, they aren't too bad on the street.

Im gonna rock an XTD this year, but if I see that torque, its corrected numbers at 5800' altitude... So probably closer to 300 or less. I thought about that Action 2MD jobbie. 6 puck, unsprung, dual diaphragm. Seems like it should hold that power easily.

My other friend went with a twin disc, making over 500whp corrected.

I'm trying to direct you towards something that is reliable, unlike XTD, and won't break pedal boxes or in the case of cable setups also the cable, unlike Action 2MD.

How was the pedal effort?  Hydro clutch?

yea, hydro clutch. it was stiff for a honda, but still loads softer than american truck clutches. once i replaced the master and slave cylinder together, i stopped having leaks. if you replaced one the other would go out.

i had some chatter even though i put a new LSD flywheel in at the same time. its not bad though. you get used to how to drive it and its fine

suja 1 cable/hydro conversion + stg 4 sprung competition clutch = decent engagement, slightly stiffer than stock, 400+ tq capacity :noel:

I sold my LSD before I ever got to use it.

Yea, Im cable. I ran a used F1 last year, and it was still holding up when I replaced it with the XTD. Havent driven the car with the XTD yet... If the XTD fails me, I will probably look at the LSD.
