Libya was also one of the only countries that controlled its own currency. They'll have a foreign central bank very quickly.
The green square rallies really showed how many people were behind gaddafi. If you fucked with your citizens, you wouldn't give them AKs to defend themselves and let them all come to your capital. The rebels were pirate thugs funded by bankers. I feel bad for Libyans, they're getting fucked pretty hard right now.
Yeah, very good point about giving them guns. The video on the link in original post is interesting and sums it up.
Printing of money only accounts for ~5% of of total inflation. They can triple the number of active mints and run them overtime and it still wouldn't hit 15%.
If our government makes war all over, we'll be forced to be a closed society. Then it will all have to come from within, and they'll have to rely on "us", the middle class.
This may not be true as I'm just using some homegrown logic, but I would think inflation occurs at a much slower pace than it should if things were kept in balance. What I mean is, if the government printed $1 trillion today, prices won't be higher tomorrow, it'd probably take a few months. I'd think it'd take time for the market to adjust to the increase in total money. Here's where I see a problem with it. We're going $6 billion deeper in debt every day, and I'm sure that's increasing as time goes on.
The problem I see is that more and more countries are talking about moving to other currencies than the USD. As fewer people want our money, we'll have fewer people to buy fewer supplies from, both of which will cause the prices of whatever to increase. As more countries move away from the USD, and other countries that already have a large sum of their wealth in USD can't spend it anywhere, they're going to either stop accepting it or devalue the fuck out of it. Then, you'll see a bit more than 15% inflation
Please explain what you're talking about with the government making war over again and having to depend on the middle class.
i was ranting about this months ago. lrn 2 zerohedge.com, newbs
