« on: April 23, 2009, 01:55:11 AM »

So a friend of my little brothers bought a 1991 Sir with a zc swap, yes the paint is oxidized but im gonna see what a good buff can do. But come to my attention when i was giving it a check up i came across this

So apperantly the Po removed the vtec solenoid. Any idea why?

thats not where a vtec solenoid was first off, because its a zc it doesnt even have vtec.

its called a cam position sensor and they most likely took it off in place of an LS distributor.

I was under the impression that 1 zc's had variable valve timing, news to me. And two on my brother's d16y8 and my d17a2 thats where the vtec solenoid is.

Great, I get chris to unlock this thread and someone else steals my correction.

Although I'm sure chris knew what it was, and locked the thread out of annoyance for stupidity.  Where that two bolt block off plate is positioned it's OBVIOUSLY not VTEC, as well as every carbed 4 cyl OHC from the 60's through 80s had one.
