Where to look for cars for sale
« on: September 12, 2021, 08:27:20 PM »

Fuck you  :mexi:
I took my daughter to some drag races over the weekend and now she wants me to build a car with her. She's always been into cars and wanted me to build something like I used to have, but after the races it was all she talked about.
The problem is I don't know where to look. Seems like no one uses Craigslist anymore and people that use Facebook marketplace have lost their damn minds with the prices they are trying to get.
Any of you guys know where to look?
She really wants a 96-00 civic coupe, but I'm also interested in 88-91 civic hatchbacks, old Novas and 3rd gen Camaro.

I just don't know where to look because I'm not paying $6k for a stock ek civic with shitty interior

Facebook is about all there is for stuff like that anymore. Sucks horribly, but that's pretty much it.

Agreed.  Craigslist is seemingly dead.  I still look though.

I'm willing to travel some, but it would have to be an amazing deal on an amazing car.
I'm going to get a hitch for my van so I can rent a trailer to tow a car if I find one out of SoCal.

I found a great ek coupe in San Diego last week, it was kinda expensive, but the body looked perfect and it was a clean title.
Of course I was on a road trip and it sold the day before I got home.

It would be easier if I knew for sure what I want

That’s me right now. Been looking for something I can use for work testing. I want something I can stick an old v8 in and an LS later. I work for a Holley EFI dealer and need to do a lot of testing. Just don’t want the standard v8 s10 or other basic bitch vehicle.

Right now I'm thinking I'd like something easier and cheaper to build like a 90s civic with a turbo b-series. But then I start thinking something pre smog 1975 and older would be cool. Twin turbo nova...
However I'm thinking it would be cool to give to my daughter in a few years when she starts driving.
It would be much easier to slap a tune on a civic to keep her from wrapping it around a tree. Like a 4k rpm rev limiter and 75mph speed limiter.

Also thinking something more luxury/sporty would be cool.
