Damn that sucks... Probably was an exciting ride... If you didnt mind trading out the complete car harness and maybe a lil interior trim I might could round up a hatch or something for next to nothing... when i say nothing i mean like for the price it would bring at the crusher or maybe less . Just all depends. Of course you are like 3 to 3.5 hrs away from me though.

I appreciate the offer, but I'm going to field my 88 STD and after that I'm out of the FWD Honda game.  S2000, Miata, SC300/400, IS300, something else. 

With how long I seem to hold onto cars the STD will last me until 2012.

I duno bout the states, but up here they now  have laws stating the usable ages of tires.  I forget how many years it is, but it's illegal to run any tire older than what the allotted time limit is.

VA says you have to have a certian amount of tread left.  I have to swap out the old Baldinis whenever I go for an inspection.

There's no born on date on American tires, sir.  Or do they require you to keep purchase receipts, and go by that?

There is a born on date now since that whole firestone/explorer debacle.  It just isnt widely enforced. 

3/32" is the limit, but in NC its really up to the inspector whether to pass it or not.  Cops only enforce tire tread rules on big vans and semi's here.

i've never heard of someone getting a ticket for bald tires

i have personally been failed twice on inspection for such infractions
