I have been thinking of buliding an ALLMOTOR D since I have never built anything and paid to have my Vitara D put together....

I am pretty sure I can do it....  But need to do it for myself....

My Question is can I get the rods and PG6 pistions out of a junkyard 86-87 (D16A1) Integra put new rings and bearings and use those in an A6 block with A6 crank?

If so thats what I'm gonna do.....  Or should I use the PM7's out of the 88-89 Integra...

You can do either.  I kind of doubt the rings will seal up worth a damn unless the bore is mint.


PG6s and a milled head seem to be a good combo in theory.

My understanding is the pistons are about the same shit.  88-89 might have a tiny bit more CR, I'm too disinterested to look it up.

Rehone the A6 block and get $50 Hastings rings, she'll seal up sweet.

I have been reading up on it all day and it seams the PG6's came in the 86-87 D16a1 and the PM7's came in 88-89 and they are shaped the same as the P29's..

PG6's are more flat top ish and PM7's are like P29's only older

Is it true all D16 rods are 137mm?   

I'd like to do this to see if I can do....I have the A6 block and crank and a Y8 head ......

Keep in mind that the D16Y valve spacing is different.  Your flycuts in the D16A1 pistons may not line up correctly... doesn't matter with the regular D16, but when you introduce a piston with some dome?  I may be blowing things out of proportion, it may work fine, but you need to check before buying parts.

The valve reliefs are quite insignificant on PG6s, but the compression height is a tad taller than the standard 30 mm D16 compression height.  With a stockish cam and stockish cam timing, I doubt there will be much of an issue regardless of what head is used in conjunction with them, but it is something one should check to be safe.  Supposedly the piston crows are very thick on these as well, so if one were inclined to do so, one could flycut the necessary valve reliefs to match whatever head one chooses.

But alas, I have yet to hold a PG6 in my hands, thus all of this is conjecture.

I have used the p29 or pm7 same deal in a bunch of d16a6 blocks. They are stupid cheap these days most companies are selling things at a cost to stay alive getting rid of inventory




Or go with the classic and have the head milled
