I speed every day of my life, sometimes (alot) way over the speed limits, so when I do get cought, I just pay up and go on with life. Like someone else said, I deserve every ticket and then some. I got a ticket doing 53 over once, the cop reduced it to 30 over and said "I was a kid once too", that was years ago when I was just 18.

If I were you I would just be happy he reduced it to what he did and pay the fine.

Being from the Northeast, we already pay stupid high insurance premiums.  As a result, I'd fight any traffic violation which results in points.  3 points can be an additional $1500 over 3-4 years in insurance premiums.  To plea out the ticket would probably be $500.

I have to go with bigwig on his statement. Its not the short term debt thats really worth bitching about, but its the longterm insurance payout to keep the point to nill.

This is something i learned when i got old a while ago.... Excessive speeding, while fun, doesn't really save enough time to be worth doing consistently.  If I do 10 over, the cops usually drive by.  Also officers are more willing to give warnings to ppl who haven't had a ticket in two years.
