Must be a Honda/Acura tax then.  Shox.com and most other retailers get about 500 for a set of 4 Bilstein Sports or Bilsein HD shocks for the 96-00 Civic.

You can get the touring class shocks for about 80 a pop.

Well i would say it's because it isn't a universal shock like a truck or corvette uses. Now a civic or integra the spring attaches to the shock. this = custom per that app. which means more money.

Not just make something to length and slap the appropriate end on it. done.

Haha thanks, I got it 3 weeks ago already like that.  It runs like shit and gets 9mpg but it's fun.  But for the price I couldn't turn it down.

Call them up anytime you need something, see what price they quote you.
