The DOHC is different enough from the SOHC where nothing but the crank, rods, and pistons swap so I'm going to guess block guards apply also.

Yep. Just as long as you make sure you're cylinders are true AFTER installing it.

The ZC dohv has its own block guard
its ordered

The engine is being bored and honed after its installed

After block guard you have to remachine or rehone sleeves for sure, I had that problem. I recomand not to use it it won't realy help.
