RHMT Food: Hashbrowns
« on: June 11, 2009, 08:32:26 PM »

You will need:

Potatoes, peeled and cut up in squares
1/2 an onion chopped
Some bellpepper
I put a little minced chille in there too since we had some from the garden.
Paprika
Oregano
extra kain olive oil
Cheese

Peel and rinse the potatoes, then cut up into squares about 1/2" or so. Chop some onion and bell pepper. Put a skillet on medium heat and add some extra virgin olive oil. Toss the potatoes in and saute them for about 10-15 minutes, then add the onion and bell pepper. Season with salt and pepper and saute over medium low heat till potatoes are done. Throw some cheese on top.

Also cooked some sausage. just cooked on low heat till it's good and done.

Nope. Squares are 1000x better.

Yeah, they did get burned. Still were pretty good. I didn't turn the heat down at the end and they burned. Hence why I said turn the heat down half way through.   :P

EDIT: I burned them cause I've always cooked on a gas stove, and now I'm having to cook on a damn flat top electric. Thing is goofy.

Looks good.  I can't stand soggy potatoes.  Red pepper would be good in there too.

I'm from the south. We've always called those homemade hashbrowns. Gonna make some more in a few weeks with some diced tomatoes once our tomatoes we're growing are ripe. Guess I'll snap some pics then for posterity. And try not to burn them this time.

I'm used to squares as well. If we had potatoes I'd try to make these right now...
