About 6 years ago china was trying to buy aigus cruiser technology from us we decline. That weapons platform was developed in the 1970’s; Iraq was more advanced in 1990.
  War with China would be an Operation desert storm replay. B2 bombers can take off from the west coast in flight refuel over the pacific put precision bombs on target taking out their key infrastructure and then land in Japan or Iraq. Japan would be the most valuable real estate on the planet. We would have to act quickly to reinforce Japan
    You guys have to understand America absolutely fucking loves a set piece war with clear cut enemies and targets to attack we completely own all. Yeah china has a billion man army but the problem is they couldn't get them here and we know exactly where there at, as soon as we have air superiority and we will have it within 72 hours shooting down 1980s Russian fighters is a cake walk for an American pilot (who has college degree and had state of the art training costing millions of dollars with almost 100 years of accumulated knowledge) in an f22 f15 or f18.  We would use b52's to knock out their entire military.
    We would take away their ability to fight us and leave it at that for the military faze then we would use trade sanctions to cut them off.
   Think about as soon as china declared war all debts we owed them would be wiped out.

 If this ever happens I would hope we have wise enough leadership to use restraint and not try a land invasion of china it would be impossible and pointless. We can take way china's ability to attack us without setting foot on the ground.
     If they somehow landed in the US well Johnny would take care of them with the quickness

An advanced military isn't something you can buy or develop in 6 years. 6 years ago they didn't have capabilities that we had in the 70's. We could put a serious hurt on them with our navy alone.
     I don't think we could ever use a nuclear weapon on them though. It would be an international disaster.
   If they are so advanced name something they have that could stand against our air force and navy. We could cripple their entire infrastructure in weeks. I'm talking power plants and factories military bases.  The Chinese even know it. And that’s why there's not going to be a pointless war they’re getting everything they want handed to them economically.

   Chinese war culture is way different then western thinking. We go at it by developing and building the biggest badest stick we can swing.  They look at the small stick they have and poke you in the eye. The root Chinese battle strategy is to take as much as you can with as little effort as possible. Where we in the west go for an over powering frontal assault.

   They know they couldn't win a war with the U.S so they win economically. Subtlety cunning

i'm not saying they could win on our home turf, but their tech isn't mothballed 70's era garbage. their air force isn't comprised of fishbeds and foxes anymore. they've got su-27's, su-30's, and the j-10, for starters. their navy isn't terrible.

war is won on the ground, not through the air. a ground war would be suicidal for the US, simply because the chinese would be able to absorb massive amounts of attrition, a la leningrad.

Exactly. The US has not done well the past few wars because we have been fighting insurgencies. Look at Desert Storm..talk about a fucking pwn fest. We have 10 times the "projection of power" that China has..not only does china have NO working aircraft carriers, we have 11 super carriers.  and even if somehow China did get some sort of land invasion going in the US..it wouldn't make it past the first cheap chinese ak mag, You can't invade a country with nuclear power..You can try and stealth bomb its bases and knock out its missiles, but doubt China will be able to get any aircraft past 11 aircraft carriers, 12 AAVs, 71 Submarines, 22 Cruisers, 54 Destroyers, and 30 frigates without someone noticing..not to mention all of our land based radar, UAVs and airborne recon planes. The pimphand of the US military would come down so hard on China it would be catastrophic..so many chinese people would die..

as fucked up as it sounds, I could see that playing out, however the US would rebuild them, and they would become a technologicaly superior nation as Japan did.

LOL the j-10 is a CDM EF2000.  and mig 29's and su27's are outdated. It would be a turkey shoot.   As far as wars being won on the ground. We wouldn't want to take and hold anything, Our only goal would be to take away whatever they could use to attck us.

    If they somehow pulled off a production miracle and kept pumping out fighters they'd just run out of experanced pilots.

 But I don't think there would ever be a war between the U.S and China. They have nuclear bombs to you know. after getting beat down they'd surely use them.

What Johnny said, look at how Russia played out.  They never acheived cutting edge technology they just shoved shit out with disregard for the human life that had to use it.  Their space program was a joke, although they acheived a lot because they acted without care for human life.  Most of the MIG fighters were jet engines with wings and a cockpit thrown on as an afterthought, and no peripheral vision.  They clocked a couple going Mach 2.5+ and thought the Russians had some Technology with a capital T, when really that was what happened when the engine took off and tried to melt itself down and it usually resulted in the pilot's death.

The majority of their population again lives in shacks,ghettos. The country is a Communist nation with some quick money schemes mixed in to be part of the world economy.


Look at what our poor run government has done in the last 10+ years to fuck us and then Look at your question again how a nation like China will ever be a country of great power.



China is not Japan.




China has one thing cheap labor for cheap goods. If Americans and the world get back to the concept of buying one item and fixing it rather than throwing it the trash since their is a local supplier of goods to keep it working we will get rid of the mass of what China does,sell shit that breaks in 3 months and no way of fixing it.



This will happen as the only way for the American work force to survive is to get back to our roots of products that are built with pride,honor and respect. I have faith this will happen in the next 15 years. Pain,poverty and hate is what is needed to open our eyes to the concept you help your neighbor not some fuck across the world.
