max you should ever be running is about 15, 10 or so with a lense.
only thing i know that makes your arc jump around is magnets and dipping your tungsten in the pool. if there was no gas it just fucking sparks and smokes and everything goes black and sooty.

Way too much gas. You're blowing the arc around. I rarely run over 15, and I weld thick stainless at work.

i mean what torch, i found out my 250syncrowave has a 200 amp torch, and was told i should go bigger. it overheats a little, esspecialy doing aluminum cly head work. im also switching to argon 75%/helium 25% mix for heavyer aluminum work... i need the bigger torch to run the #12 gas cup right

If you do a lot of aluminum a water cooled torach is a must. For the #12 cup/gaslense you just need to buy a large gas lense and then the #12 cup. You will need to find the correct adaptors (little white rings) that makes up the room to the torch head.

It's not to hard if you have a decently stocked welding supply store to look through. I have a large gas lense but haven't got around to using it.

yes the gas lense for a #12 cup is huge, but they make the large lenses for  size 17 and 26 torches if you want to use one. it would work well for a part that doesnt have tight spots to be welded.

I had planned on using mine on dp's and tubing in general. I can't get my SS tubing welds to look all pretty there dull pink in color.

ya i figured my #8 is why i just get light red color only, welds look good but seems like theres not enough gas coverage. not as nice as when i used a air cooled 200sx with a #12, man the welds were beautiful...

u really want ur welds to be a pinkish/gold color

just to confirm, the number on the cup is just the diameter of the cup in 16ths of an inch?
#12=12/16=3/4 inch?
