And dude, this sounds alot like me trying NOT to electrocute myself figuring out how to wire 220v up to my house only to find i already had a 220v cord in my basement along with wire spools.... 

I smoked entirely too much weed when i first started working on cars......  Found stuff i never even knew i had ownership of trying to find my bodywork tools...

Jay what do you intend on making with this TIG? My little Thermal Arc 185 does very well with manifold, cages and the like. Its very compact, light and is an inverter. Look into it.
