rHMT gokart
« on: March 03, 2010, 11:16:45 PM »

So I traded a old p4 computer I had for this thing. Its a 2 seater and has shocks all around. Its  supposed to run but needs a belt and brakes. No idea wtf im going to do with it lol. Im thinking of putting a bigger motor on it but idk. If anything its worth a lot more then the computer i gave for it haha. (sorry about the crap pics only had my phone with me when i looked at it. still need to figure out how to get it home lol.)

Well I go the thing home yesterday. Fit right in my buddies jeep lol just had to take the cage off. I just went out to look at it and for the hell of it i wrapped a rope around the starter thing on the flywheel (pull starter is broke) and one quick tug the thing started right up  My cousin said he hasn't messed with it since summer so it must be a good motor lol. The motor on it is a Subaru/robin not a techmusa like i though it was. Anyhow it sound pretty good. The steering is really tight on it for some reason unless you lift the front off the ground so i think the king-pin bushings are bad. So to be ready to drive the thing needs

1: a belt
2: king-pin bushings
3: 1 front tire
4: brakes
5: a pull starter, although it starts so easy with just a rope wraped around i wont worry about this too much.

Anyhow if i get board with it woping 6.5 hp im going to put a snowmobile or bike motor on it or something. I do have a geo metro sitting here i might part out if the frame is bad. I was thinking it would be cool to build a sub-frame and use the geo motor/trans/suspension on the back of it

I wire/tune an F23A1 powered rock crawled buggy on Wednesday.   I think it's a great idea.

ya my fab skills are not that good so something semi-simple would be best to start. I was thinking like maybe a snowmibile motor or something would not be that hard. or maybe a small-is bike motor.

Friend of mine wants to start on a d-series crawler/buggy if he ever gets all his other projects done. Plan is to use a z6 and obd0 auto trans. he has the motor/tranny and a set of axles out of a toyota truck i think lol.

You have a couple complete D engines laying around, and atleast 1 tranny that I know of, and a few ecu's. Get to it  :noel:

My gokart had a baby  :o  traided more usless pc shit for this thing lol Im too fat and dont fit in it but a neighbor guy offered me $100 when he saw me unloading it from the hatch haha. Looks to be home made or made in shop class. has a running 3.5hp? b&s motor on it. I think im gunna sell it to fund parts for the other one.
