Is this homemade enough?
« on: March 06, 2010, 09:11:10 PM »

I couldn't see spending 25 dollars for a damn return feed on my turbo so I got creative. Heater hose nipple cost three dollars.

P.S. I'm open for criticism.

BTW, it doesn't leak.

I figured this was an "easy way to save" 25 dollars. Also, I used the same fitting on the oil pan side and put 5/8 hose to butt them together. It turned out well.

The opening on that feed may be a little large and give you more flow than you'll need, but it could only mean another 3 cent fix I'm sure.

is there a such thing as a return line being too big?

No, but then, that's not what I said either.  ???

was wondering why it wasn't jb welded either.  the only concern I'd have, and it probably wouldn't ever happen, is damaging the bearing in the chra if the arc jumped across it.  unlikely for sure, but i've talked to industral gear box manufacturers who warned of the same thing

Eh, it isn't a baller bearing CHRA, and if the ground clamp is close to the weld area with little resistance, then i doubt the chances of arcing across the bearings is much to worry about.

Great idea!

he said it was a return line

Practically, yes. Technically?

I couldn't see spending 25 dollars for a damn return feed

No. Technically, he isn't making it all that clear, so I can award you no points, or hotpocket proofs of purchase.

Your right. You should start an oil line business.

It's referring to Johnny's constant whining about the government and everyone on some kind of social welfare/assistance program stealing all his money.  And no, I don't think he's bought any clean clothing.

not many people run their feed hose to the oil pan

Well I did, and the return is under the manifold. But I screwed it up and it always flows backwards. :'(

is there a such thing as a return line being too big?

Since when did turbos "return" oil? Drain back is hard enough, let alone pushing it back.

the turbo isnt returning it gravity is. the oil is returning from the turbo back into engine circulation so i think its ok to call it a return line.

I love it, in fact alot of those retarded 25 dollar fittings (even though I never paid for them, thanks craig) leak. I don't know what the deal is. Sometimes they would chase the threads, sometimes its the flange gasket.

thats so hot, its almost front page material.

I guess I didn't notice at first, but this is a "test mule", right?

Cause nobody in their right mind here would rock a 50trim t3 anymore. HX40 or go home.
