Cop just stopped by here a few minutes ago, said he knows we work on Hondas because he's seen us working on them.  Asked about the CRX and if I was "souping it up."  Saw the wires I was running back and said I must be putting in some speakers, really I'm relocating the battery but didn't want to explain anything.

Pointed to his EG 4-door down the street with rice wheels and rice taillights and asked if I knew anyone that wanted it.  "It's got some nice taillights on it, they cost $150, they'll probably fit on that Civic" and points at my buddies EK coupe.  "It doesn't start, it'll turn over but won't get going, my friend said it's probably a timing belt or coilpacks, but I'll sell it for $900."

Then went on to tell me about his cousin that does machine work at an exhaust place around here.  I need to get the cat removed, it's welded to the exhaust, and I'm going to replace with some flexpipe and a testpipe since the header doesn't have o2 bungz.  Now I know where NOT to go to have illegal work done.

I had a deputy sheriff come by one night on a noise complaint wile we were messing with my buddys rx7.

He B.S. with us, saying he didn't give a fuck what we did, and asked us to keep it down.

Before he left, he looked in the enginebay and asked us if we were about to put the motor in. We were confused, since the motor had already been out and back in. So he points at the 13b and says "aint that the tranny?"

Obviously, we all laughed.

I got a cop who lives on my street a block over (my street has a horse shoe loop shape to it).  Hes chilled with me a few times talking cars and shit.  Was creepy when he first pulled into my driveway in his squad car unannounced while I was doing the water pump on my crx.

Hes got a few restored muscle cars in a shed behind his house.  I dont remember what they all were except one: 1972 chevelle ss.  He knew his muscle but at least he didnt rag on imports like most muscle car guys in my area. So hes pretty cool in my book.

Some areas are more. Red light cameras on every corner. Starting to see a trend of how California is run. I drive back streets to stay away from those fuckin cameras. I have heard to many horror stories about red light tickets out here so I try to lower my odds.

This guy was just a goof-ball who though his EG had coil-packs.

I was doing about 100 on the CBR a few nights ago around midnight on the way to work. CHP gets on the freeway, pulls up next to me,  few seconds later flashes his lights and sirens, then takes off in a big fucking hurr, he was probably going 130 or more.

I was scared shitless, i thought i was going to get rolled for sure. I didnt even try to slow down.

Cops usually don't know or understand anything technical.  There's a SC trooper I met a while back who took a regional trophy in his Mustang SVO, owned an R32 Skyline, and I think he had a Civic too.  There should be more cops like that - I don't mean car-specific, just generally have a clue about something and aren't a dumbass.

the one time ive been pulled over doing over 100, the cop walked up to my car, asked for my license, and before i can even hand it to him, he gets back in his car a takes off. i waited there for like an hour, because i thought if he came back and i wasnt there i would be in even deeper shit. i drove off and nothing happened, now i pretty much drive like a granny all the time.


oh, and fuck stop light cams, and all the lazy fucking law enforcement that is associated with it.

It seems to be clean on the outside.  OEM tails, quick repair, thorough cleaning should grab 2-3k without much trouble.

First time I raced a cop it ended with my car bottoming out, me not wanting the 3 passengers to die, and me getting fellony evasion. But I have it on record I was pulling way from a squad and "emitted shower of sparks" above 130mph.

Second time it was an undercover, probably a detective. I was next to him on a 2-lane on-ramp, so I gunned it. I actually had my rearview mirror fall off the day before so I saw him after ppl around me were parting around me. Said he'd mail a ticket, but it's been almost 2 years and nothing. The funny part - I was going 88, and felt like I did go back in time...thought I was in deeeeep shit again.


Another time when I smashed the EF, the cop pointed to the now-visible BOV (type-s) and said "that can't be stock". I said it was a bypass valve, technically not a lie.

Then when a theif ravaged my car, the cop asked me "whats a turbo?" when I listed what was taken.



Yeah, it's different out here. I rock the e-cutout and stock muffler and don't get shit from cops now.

My dad chased a police car back in the days (in the 70's I guess). The police car tried to distance him by going faster, but my dad had a Trans-Am with a 400 that was faster. (they were at like 90mph in a 30mph street)

Finally, the police turned left and my dad said fuck off. A minute later, the cop flash his light behind my dad's car and he stopped his car.

Cop: What were you doing sir?
Dad: I was chasing you!
Cop: You scared the shit out of me, I thought you tried to bump my car!
Dad: No, I was just chasing you.
Cop: Don't do it again and have a good night.

He left with no ticket and of course, my dad had a beer between his legs and an opened 12 pack on the rear seat. It was a common practice at this time.

Try that nowadays! You get a 2000$ ticket, loose your car, your permit and your anus virginity in jail.


These weeks, cops are fucking everywhere. They wake up after the winter I guess. I've seen at least 10 cars on a 50km drive.

My buddy's dad got wasted at a bar back in the day and decided to drive home.  A cop tried to pull him over so he floored it and tried to get away.  Thought he would hide behind a warehouse but the cop saw him and followed him.  Drunk off his ass he got out of the car and punched the cop in the face.  Cop took him out with his billy club and brought his ass to the station cell.  He sobered up and they let him go in the morning.  Those were the days.
