Im still alive.
« on: March 21, 2010, 03:50:16 PM »

Not that you care, but i made the 3000 mile drive from Washington to Virginia beach, got here yesterday.

Drove my 06 2500 quad cab cummins ram and made 18.5 MPG.
Stopped by Yellowstone and Mt Rushmore on the way over, pretty enjoyable drive.

Out here for school for two months so unfortunately, i will miss the dyno day for the 2nd year in a row. Thats why i wanted it in June. boooo

CRX is done, i just need to get a LSD because it is literally pointless driving it rite now with zero traction.

Oh yea, and the ram is very close to the same color as the crx (frost white) so it will look great pulling the crx down the road going to long distance track days. booya

Only one battle of the imports in the northwest this year. Only one in California too. Economy is killing events.

2006 cummins. With a afe stage II intake and 35"s and leveling kit
get it correct.

The car should be run at an event it makes power, looks nice. Play tree games at the light and you might get deep into the rounds. Not to mention all the 9 sec turbo street cars are pretty unreliable.

Ive drove from seattle to miami and back in a crx with no ac, and packed to the fucking max with everything i owned when i was 20. All i have to say is tex. fucking suck to drive accross. But i did get around 40mpg the whole way. And gas was only about .99 a galon back then. Whole trip cost about $100 in gas....lol

Like i said, you will be lucky. if you put a chip on it of any kind, plan on a torq converter withing 5k. I dont care if you just drove it off the lot with 0 miles. Its a fucking gas trans behind 600ftlbs of torq and a tranny built for less then 400. First sign is on the freeway it will feel like its missing every now and then, they blow.

Well it was either this or a powerblow or duramax, neither interest me more than a cummins, i agree the 48re may be trash, so when it goes, it goes, il just upgrade, im not planning on a chip or anything like that, i don't haul anything excessively heavy.

oh no man. I love the 6bt's... the only thing i dislike/absolutely hate is the trans. Everything else i can live with. canbus sucks but its what you have to deal with, with newer shit. Chevy did right with Allison but they are garbage IFS. You got the right truck, I'm just going through with rebuilding a 48RE right now and have had everyone that i know with one (47re or 48re, same trans with slight upgrades) blow it up.

One thing to do a bit of research on is Re-Adjusting the clutch bands. Trust me on this! and if you have the spare 350 bucks put a shift kit/valve body upgrade to get the line pressures up so the torq converter wont start slipping its worth it! once it does it wont stop! If you need any info on it I've done so much research and dicking around with them i can help you out. Plus your a semi local nog.
