200sx Stank ride build

So many nig here got builds so Ill toss my horrible peice of shit build into the mix

car:
1985 nissan 200sx turbo
ca18et (rinky dink ass motor)

I bought the car non running months ago and have been battling previous owners fuck ups on it.  Such as it being converted to NA with all turbo related items removed (oil and water lines, several vacuum lines, and some boost related plugs and wires).  I should also mention the cars timing has been set about 20 degrees or more off from stock.  I dont know who did it or why.

Heres pics of the car and shit ive done so far.  Mind you im working on a RHMT budget, and Ive never boosted a car.  Wish me luck faggots.

I got plenty of jb weld. lol.  Its mostly a lack of parts and funds.  The s12 200sx turbo came stock turbo with no intercooler.  It was armed with a puny t2 that went straight to the TB from the turbo.

Here is a stock pic/advertisement (the turbo is behind the power steering canister)


I got a side mount intercooler from an sr20 but I dont have the pipes to fit it.  I should be fine rocking this t25 stock stile.  Im just concerned about getting it hooked up right since I dont know what other surprises there are from the previous owners butchery.

Also look closely at how the bov is attached.  The raised metal underneath the jb weld is where I drilled several holes then used pliers to peel metal off till it was big enough.  I cant afford proper cutting tools atm  :mexi:

i got this t25 for $35 on ebay.  I got lucky.  Some dude fired an employee from his shop and sold off the guys left over shit. hahaha!  The t3 is also a little big for this motor stock.

Also the t25 fits the ca18et turbo mani and down pipe. 


Good news is in a few months ill be scoring another s12.  Itll be an 84 turbo (lucky me!!!) that has everything in the engine bay intact.  Basically its overall condition is like finding that mint crx that seems almost new for a lowballers price  O0.  When I clear out and sell another project of mine (notice the red civic in one of the photos) ill be buying that other s12.

Better off with a Bosch valve. Or put a big check valve on the end of the one you have.

I guess its not really a piece of shit. It is just not ment to be vented like you seem to be doing.

its set up like stock, but in a manner that pushed its similaritis to the limit.  That bov (i think its called a bypass pov or some thing) is hooked up attached to the air box and is right next to it.

I would seriously consider doing something different wth the oil feed.
Vibration is going to cause you some problems in the future and spraying hot oil
and a hot turbo are a bad mix.  I had a metal brake line oil feed crack
once and spray oil onto the turbo/manifold.  Made for a nice sized fire.
Other than that if it works, looks good. I've done some more ghetto stuff in the past.

If you need an intercooler LMK (PM me).

I have two 7mgte intercoolers.

One will need some JB weld brazing (b/c it was in a wreck).

The other looks good w/ most of the stock black paint on it.

Old skool intercoolers in an old skool 200sx would totally rad mang. ;D

bad news:  Friend helping me drop the turbo and broke the oil line i made. fffffffffffff

good news: said friend is buying me an oil feed line with fitting  O0 I guilt tripped him into it.

Project is delayed till the part gets here  :-\

I appreciate help from certain friends who are fairly competent when it comes to cars.  They like learning more working with me and are amazed at my ghetto fabrication and applications.  I tell I get most of it from a bunch porch-monkey nignogs in the interwebz.

Just got a few things to work out like:

timing is off 4 degrees on the crank vs head and off by about 6 teeth on the distributor  :o.  Yea, nightmares from previous owner.
Check what the cel are incase anything new popped up
Hope the excessive smoke is caused by the fucked up timing.
Find where an electrical power drain is coming from (someone walk me through it.  I feel retarded trying it)

Im also running it open header since I gotta source a turbo 200sx upper exhaust pipe (mine had the na shit on it!). 

More shit to come ladies.  Pics, and ripper vids soon enough.

Lol more problems and not enough progress.  I busted a hole in the radiator when my wrench slipped  :-[.  JB welded the fuck outta that shit.  Gonna out more on tomorrow.

I tried resetting the timing back the factory.  Let me tell you guys, The faggots at nissan back in the 80's were butt fucking each other when they came up with how to set the timing on the CA series motors.  Theres no real defining mark to distinguish because there's like 3 on the cam, doesnt match the factory manual, same deal with the crank, and the tensioner setup is a piece of shit.

After setting the timing to what seemed right the motor fired right up but had no power and could rev for shit.  then died after a minute of idling.  I realized I didnt set the dizzy timing.  I align the belt TDC, then reset the dizzy.  Car would start for shit. GAAAAAAHHHH!!!

Ill try again Thursday.  If I fail again then, Ill try the weekend.

ive considered those.

Hotrex, the motor ran without turbo and when I had it turbod before redoing the timing.  It seems to only run with jacked up timing setting  ??? ??? ???

If I get this other motor (d16z6) removed and swapped out of my car, ill be cashing in on it by selling it to this kid who thinks vtec is the bee's knee's  O0.  Then ill be buying another 200sx.
