next upgrades?
« on: May 13, 2010, 01:05:50 AM »

Ok. Well here is the round up. Car won't see boost for a few months so here is the setup as it is.

Jdm d15b vtak block
Usdm y8 head
Pbt TB/Spacer/mani combo 74mm
3" intake
Crower valve springs
Crower stage 2 y8 cam
Stock header, aftermarket cat, 2.25" piping with a stock replacement muffler.
Stock P28 ecu
ACT clutch
B&M fpr (not installed yet)

Well, I'm getting a rear section from Chris which will flow better than what I got.
Currently looking for a header
This bitch will see some nitrous at the track

What should I do next before getting it tuned. I'm still getting a bog going into vtec no matter what I have the distributor set at. Will most likley add fuel and make timing adjustments when it gets tuned. If you see the videos in my build thread, this thing screams in vtec as if it was B Vtec crossover.

Getting that thing on the dyno is the best investment and ditch that damn stock ecu and socket that thing.

Why to all of my threads just turn into convo's with me and you?  Lol

It is socketed. Its the setup I used with the vitara motor and also this mini me with the big turbo. Just cut J1 to get the car running.

Magnoflow exhaust is being sold to flip nog from a parts car. The massed produced headers that worked on al motor d's are long gone only cdm junk left. A modified d16y8 manifold should work fairly well that little trick does the job.

In reality from an all motor view the weakest part is the stock head but thats snake oil along with other port work and throttle bodies. Fuck flowbenches Im all about blowbenches.

yeah i was talking about a fucking dc header when i told him to get a real header. He said he had a stock header which fucking blow. so getting a real header (aka one custom made) Would see some solid gains.

Yeah i'm sure pulling his engine apart is a way better way to make some easy power.  :?:

Head work+zc/si gearing on slicks should nail this car into the high 13's on some 22's

That transmission is good for half a second off all motor d series builds.

You should be able to source a dohc zc transmission for 150-200 bucks if they even exist at importers anymore. Nippon down In la use to have pallets of those fuckers but that was a long time ago.
