Yeah ASE is gm/ford bullshit.  Always will be.

If your doing it just to have an ASE under your belt, id steer you away from the brakes and suspension tests. The engine performance is much easier.  Brakes test is mostly ABS and hydralics questions.

Well then, lets get you up to speed.

Keep in mind these are promising looking Google hits, which may or may not be cleverly disguised sales shit.  I'm throwing them at you as I walk out the door for my daughter's concert tonight.

don't have to have schooling to take the tests, but you have to have 2 years of experience (2 yr school counts as 1 yr exp) to actually become certified.  if you don't have the 2 yrs and you pass the test you can say you passed, but you aren't ase certified.

If you are looking to knock out a few easy ase tests I'd suggest you stay the fuck away from A2 and A3...other than that I nailed all of them on my first try (took all 8 in two nights, missed A2 and A3 by 2 questions each, since then I got them and my L1..thinking about taking A9 and X1 now).

A1 through A8 were all pretty easy to me approximately 9 years ago.

Dunno how much has changed in the way of content since I never opted to recert.

no no....joel would get 2 right....I only got 2 wrong..

Two years auto repair experience that can be proven, as in working in a shop for two years and your boss will sign off on you not being an idiot...just saying "i've been wrenching for a few years" they won't let slide.

This. The computer test for some reason seem easier.

Im with Elvis, A2 and A3 are fucking hard.  Then again, I suck at tests so whatever.

Automatic trans was tough 5 years ago, I dunno if they have changed it or not, since nobody rebuilds them anymore.
