Creating uttorent backup list
« on: May 29, 2010, 01:01:33 AM »

Ok so I'm getting ready to reformat one pc so I'm wanting to transfer the twenty eight games I have seeding to my other PC and just pick up seeding there. Getting them to the other pc is easy, but is there anyway to backup my seed list to just open it on the other pc and start seeding?

I assume you don't have the option enabled which saves the .torrent files somewhere on your computer?

Just redownload the .torrent files from whatever site you got them from. When they open in your new utorrent point them to the file location. They will check and then start seeding.

C:\Users\Doug\AppData\Roaming\uTorrent

Backup

Restore

uTorrent should have it all loaded.

The seed files also need to be in the same directory location.

I know that, that's what I was trying to avoid.

I'll give that a try

The seed files also need to be in the same directory location.

So then I need to rename the location on the new PC to mirror the one on the old one?

Do you not have a secondary or external all your files are on?

They will need to be in the same path or the torrents will say "file not found" or re-download them.

I have a "torrents" folder on each drive with the torrent to every file that is being seeded.

:D  Usually I'll just save the program data/utorrent folder if I'm reformatting, but worst case I have all the torrents save and just need to open them all.

I'm still not done finding all the torrents for the files I have...only two drives done so far :(

Why are you trying to avoid that? You could've had it done by now, it's not hard at all.

I take a shit/piss before I get in the shower, so that would be more work to muster up more urine.
