As far as changing your controller's connector...good luck finding the right connector. An "oem" end will end up being $30-60 for the plastic, seals, and pins.
Or snip snip at the junkyard for $5-10. They come on GM, Nissan, and I guarantee others.
I know the VW/Audi 7057 connectors cost a fraction of what you've stated, and am willing to be the "rectangle" style plug is similar. Ballenger probably carries them at an OK price, or Mouser, etc.
Then you have to hope you crimp & seal it correctly. Common knowledge is that 98% of the population can't wire for shit. 2/3 of those that can have the money & brains to simply buy the correct part.
This is not a new problem since tail lights became standard equipment on the horseless carriage, and not a concern to anyone who can correctly wipe their ass. This is not a forum for fools. Irrelevant.
You're going to take the custom to that sensor calibration resistor and put it onto another one and ASSume it will work correctly?
Well if the controller has it's own free-air calibration, then it won't matter.
Not everyone does free air recals like Innovate, and I'll neither purchase nor endorse another Gargano wideband. So, if you are the 15% of the market with an Innovate (or the 15.5% of the market with Innovate *or* TE) you can do free air recals, but everyone else is screwed because you find it too difficult to get the correct plug for the sensor to plug into, and would rather hack on the sensor wiring itself.
Gotcha.
