finally had to retire my nike's after 6 years of wearing them every day of those 6 years...only due to the fact i was to cheap to replace them. So i broke down today and went to the nex and got a cheap pair of addias running shoes and new socks ( since i was already spending the money) ...it was worth it end of story 

anyone else done this or is currently ...

I have 10 pairs of shoes and I buy a new pair at least once a year. I wouldnt use a sniper rifle in a bathroom firefight and I wouldnt use a hand gun at 500 yards. Same with my shoes.

I actually did the same thing recently.  My old Nikes were fucking up my feet while doing PT and also letting in water through a hole in the sole so I went to the nex and bought a new pair.  I didn't go with new socks though.

same here, i have a pair of slip on's (fuck off) that kick ass when i'm just hanging out. And a nice set of k swiss. the rest are old junk shoes for working in.

i do this and save them for when i swim in creeks, carp hunting, cliff jumping, and such(so i can walk/run on rocks in the water). sometimes my shoes die before a year. but i always buy the 20$ special at big 5. i use it for everything including work. i try for a dark color of shoe because there always dirty. and when the sole gets worn i usually will go buy a sole insert to make it last longer.

I have to buy a new pair every 2 or 3 months since i tear mine up so quick. Bought a pair of nike reax about a month ago and besides being dirty, they are still in great shape. best 70 bucks i have spent in a while.

I can't buy Walmart shoes...

When I was a kid, my parents would buy me similar stuff.  As I got older, and my parents had more money, they'd buy me "decent" shoes and IMO the comfort/durability difference is worth the cost...  Maybe things have changed since then, but the klunky, ugly, heavy, uncomfortable wally-world shoes weren't worth the small price.  Other than a pair of shell-toe Adidas, I've been rocking the same style New Balance shoes for years.  2 pairs for $80 FTW.

I buy a set of boots every 3-7 years, I try to milk them for at LEAST two years after they are dead.  I maintain one pair of $7 Walmart velcro sandals for river duty.  And I had a set of Vans that lasted ~10 years, shame they aren't made that well anymore.

im wearing fuckin wally velcros right now and they are cashed out but im on my feet 14 hours a day most of the time and they are fucked and my feet hurt im buying new ones soon haha, but i have 2 pairs of nice sandals some boots that i've had for 5-6 years and two pairs of shoes some nikes and dc's but i never wear there becuz i dont want to get them dirty.

I never understood the ppl that are more worried about keeping their shoes clean than they value their own life, i have some friends that buy the expensive ass nike sb's that range form 200-1200, fucking stupid.  Shoes are meant to be fucking worn, theyre fucking SHOES, whats the point in buying some expensive ass shoes, hardly wearing them, and trying to keep them clean and going to a party only to sit in the corner away form everyone so your shoes dont get fucked up.   Thats like buying some drag radials or racing tires but not doing burnouts/launching or hard cornering with them because you dont want to wear them out, well thats what THEY WERE FUCKING MADE FOR YA FAGGOT.

cheapy shoes as I've not found anything decent that fits. Lake and Trail hikers from Meijers but they no longer carry them. My cheapy Wally World shoes last about 6-9 months and I don't care if they turn green from cutting the grass or black from cleaning transmissions.

Also when you have a gout attack, that velcro is a lifesaver!!!!
