i just got some junk ass set up going on ..
car is a 97 civic hatch
goals get the shit running sometime but really about 350 hp
motor d16
ems chipped p27 obd1
h beams
 blowen up so looking for new pistons
t4 turbo
window weld mounts turbo rhmt shit right there
said car

car with the said jackass (me)

ar 60 cold ar 81 hot side

my rods and shit

fucked piston after  a boost spike

i put this shit togather outside in the snow and ice

 this is what i found on the arps
i found this out from another site
"The z6 kit comes with 140mm the y7/y8 with 120mm (actually slightly longer since its a stud not a bolt). "
so i THINK theyll work IF this is right
my block and head are both y7 i got the z6 hella cheap tho so im hoping they work

i need a turbo main still looks like it will have to be a one off mani being a t4 ......... im looking for pistons yet being that big of a turbo i want to
a higher CR to help spool that thing... but i might not have a prob. becuz the holset hc1 that dude ran is bigger around  1. something hot side??
he made with  a set upof  Eagle/Vitara Y7 279 whp 210 tq 11.200@124.5, 1.68 60 ft. they came with a z6 intake mani and i belive he told me 23 psi

what mother fucker... i dont what im talking about?  i want higher cr to spool my turbo and im running that turbo to be able to make high hp.with some 780cc injectors... vitaras are in mind becuz i want to do something cheap and still fun this one will not blow im looking into tuners right now

your tuner should have set you up with boost cut paremiters!  its added with the extra feathers lc,cel shit light ect and is really good to have !  it looks like your shit went really lean..

I know "Bense" on H-T has a thread about the PROPER way to mix z6/a6 & y7/y8 heads & blocks, concerning head studs. I had a z6 head on a y7 block for a while, the ARP's needed were a "d16y" kit, along with one longer stud for the corner. I actually have the set if you'd want to buy it. Otherwise you just use the y7/y8 bolts and one z6 bolt. It may be two, but do a search for the writeup.

Spool rpm is NOT related to compression. The turbine accellerates based flow induced by a big pressure drop. To do that you feed MASS into the exhaust. Higher compression does NOT draw any more air into the cylinder, it just absorbs more efficiently (to simplify it). Ask Jeff Evans for his dyno graph on the B18 where they did nothing but swap out a stock 9:1 bottom end for a built 10:1 bottom end, both tuned back to back. The *ONLY* change was power created per PSI during boost. Off-boost power was about 2-3hp greater, which is small enough to blame on atmospheric conditions or even fresh oil.

Close.  :P Turbine is an enthalpy converter. Takes energy from the exhaust and turns it into work. h = U + PdV. U is a function of temperature and density, which is a function of the engine's thermal efficiency. if you could run 4000:1 compression and not detonate, you'd have a 97ish % thermally efficient engine. It would make tons of power N/A, but with less than 3% of the energy going out the exhaust, there would be little left to drive a turbine to drive a compressor.

But "common wizzdom" says lower comp hurts spool.  :?:
