Help. Cyclinder misfire.

So i bought a 2000 civic ex for cheap with a misfire in cylinder 3. Changed the plugs and wires, has a new cap and rotor. Also pulled the injectors and cleaned them as best i could and ran some seafoam through the car. Still has a misfire. ideas?

There is some great flow of diagnosis ITT.

 :?:

You need to find out if that cylinder has spark.  If so, then move on to checking to see if the injector is being triggered by the ECU.  If so, then you need to check for compression in that cylinder.

Pretty basic stuff here.  You need fuel, compression and spark for a gasoline powered engine.

leak down test is it a bent or chipped valve or is it shitty rings. try putting a table spoon of oil down the spark plug tube then test compression again if it goes up its rings if it doesnt its valves

Yea, i did that. It's valves.

Anyone have a cheap y8 head in washington?

take it off and see if its just one valve. there cheap enough to replace. that way you dont sell your head cheap then have to buy a good one. just fix what you have got.

People will give away sohc heads for free around here. Find one with a couple decent valves, relap the rest on your head, then enjoy more power & gas milage.

I have a y8 head that Im selling. Wasnt planning on shipping it, but I'm looking for 100 plus shipping if youre interested.
