Everything else was sold that weekend.  The land was the only thing they were auctioning off that had a "reserve" on it.  She didn't accept the highest bid (which was me at $140,000) so we made a deal after the fact

Hell yeah.  Real estate is all about location.  Sure, $30,000 an acre is a ripoff at some parts of the country but its a good deal around my area.  What makes it even better is the land around is all developed so they can never put a development in.

The minibike went for $160 I stopped at $100 becuase the front forks were bent like someone ran into a wall at top speed.  Plus, mine is better

Some people don't want subdivisions popping up around their home   I sure as hell don't.

If you're out to make a profit on real estate, then sure, but for a home I'd prefer being away from other people.

Thats what I'm going to do.  The property is at an intersection.  I own 700ft on one roadfront and 350 on the other.  I'd like to do a horseshoe driveway between both streets so you can't see the house like you said.  I'd just be fucked if they ever put in public sewer and I'd have to pay per foot of road frontage.
