So I'm working on a 96 accord w/ f22b1 with a automatic transmission and it has no spark at all. Replaced dizzy and all internal, and the tdc sensor harness at the crank. Fuel pump primes, I pulled the cap and hooked a spark plug wire to the coil and it throws spark but a light Orange ish color one. But once I put the new cap or old cap no spark through it. So off to the auto parts store for a new rotor. Other than that I'm at a loss. Car was just driving down the road and died. I don't know if I'm over looking something, but I'm thinking new ecu maybe.

Im done for the night, but I checked the one off of the valve cover, I dont know it there is one on the thermo housing. I couldnt see one but I didnt look super hard eather. So where is the ground for the ecu on the accord? Is it on the thermo housing?

ohm out the thin blue wire on the coil back to the shocktower plug same thing my friends b20 had turns out the wire was corroded and not giving the coil a good ground therefore shitty spark but enough to produce the orange spark u say

Well I just checked and cleaned the grounds on the end of the intake, (thats where the ecu ground goes) Front batt ground on the rad/headlight support, and the one on the valve cover/motor mount one too. Still no go. And there is no blue wire that goes from the coil.

ECU ground is on the thermo.

On the f22b1 it was on the driverside end of the intake. I looked and felt all around the thermo and there was nothing.

First dizzy was a oem, then a napa auto parts one. It has all oem internals, just a china coil. But with the old coil it had no spark also.

i say since its obd2 does it throw a code? if not clear the ecu and crank it till it does?? then jump it or scan it to see what the ecu found

No cel at all. No mater how much you crank it no cel. Had batt diconected for 3 months, Would that clear in locked in codes?....lol

ok so something is causing the weak spark its not a no spark condition its a weakend spark let me dig through accord wiring diagrams tonight to track down and see where all the dizzy wires go to eventually and i will post my findings and suggestions tomm morning. you said when you hooked up a plug wire to the coil directly it would give you a dull orange spark when you would tap it to ground correct?

Was just going to ask that. mitchell is being a bitch and locking up.
I suggest pinning out the dizzy wires and see if something is "strange" such as high resistance for one of the coil wires. if its not throwing a code its not an internal dizzy fault but rather a coil power situation. I would also check the little spring on the coil sometimes they dont make good contact. there is a little spring in there right?

Coil is getting 12+ish volts.

ok and there is a little spring in it right? there should be a thin blue wite coming off the coil maybe its a different color on an accord but its what fires the coil and it the wire in fucked up or has a lot of resistance it wont get a good spark. also give the dizzy and mating surface on the head a good cleaning as the coil grounds itsself to the head

R u talking about the little spring inside the dizzy cap? Im gona go and check the resitans on the 2 wires that run from the coil to the harnes on the dizzy.

ok, so here it is. The little blue wire you were talking about? On the pass fender? Is that the tach test port? It has 12 volts if thats what you were asking.

Somthing kinda weird, When I kick the key to the run position it the pump primes, the cel turns on, The car showes its in park, and D4, when the cell goes out so does the drive light, and then it just shows that its in park. It my brother-in-laws girlfriends car. So I have no idea if this is normal or not.

see i am just trying to think if you crank the car via jumping the starter with a wire will it put a spark directly out of a cap terminal like stick a wire in it like speaker wire and set it near a ground see if a 0 ohm wire will spark to groungd at reg intervals then its cap coil rotor or combination
