Well I met my goal.........
I said I was gonna push something to the limit. And I did.....and that was time. If I had more I would have kept cracking the mbc up. I was hitting and holding 27.1psi and the last 500rpms it was falling to 25.9psi so it held pretty solid. Maybe next year we will crank it up some more and mix in a little race fuel. All in all I'm really fucking happy.

Thanks. Yeah I need to get some boost by gear because they just rip loose in pretty much any gear. Even when I roll into the power nice and slow. When Russ paypals me money im gonna buy a mac valve and set it up.

Thanks man. I don't know if the clutch would have held much more. Think I might try some different cams and go for 500 on pump. So Levi thought that they were b17 cams. Last year he said they were gsr. And they are, b17 gsr cams. Might try and get hold of some itr cams and go for broke!

or newer obd2 gsr cams which are very close to itr spec. Same goes for jdm sir-2 b16a units. ff-squad has the ring pics so you can id what your looking at

either way great job. Now does it feel faster than the crx with the extra weight?

As for the cams, I was on ff squad last year when I picked up the cams from Levi and Sewell couldn't even Identify them either. Said he mic them and they were just a touch smaller than itr. So Im sure they are some crazy Canada jdm import b17cams because the marking don't match anything Ive ever seen online or in person. At any rate they make pretty good power.

No, it doesn't feel faster because I cant get traction in any gear. Before I pulled it on the dyno it felt faster than my crx because I got great traction with it. It just pulled so smooth and hard. Jumped on the dyno with the same basemap I was running on the street and it made 288whp. So it was about 10 less hp than the crx, and a lot less tq, and 400lbs heavier and it still felt faster because of the traction. Now Im gonna set up boost by gear. Now i did a quick pull on the hwy with it on the way home, and I can say its by far the fastest car Ive ever driven or rode in.

Its funny, i was able to dead hook 350ft/lbs. I would your traction issue is more due to the stronger mid range of a B over a D.

The tq doesn't really roll in it just rockets from 175tq to 330tq in 500rpms.

So since it was so nice out today I figured I would take the car out for a rip. The thing is fast enough to scare me. Flat out scared me. 4th gear is no joke, I didn't even take it to the top if 4th because that over 135mph. and on some back roads its not cool. But the car does pretty good on traction above 6k in second and all of 3rd and 4th. And it spoils like a fucking champ. I'm at 25psi @ 5k.

It is fun, But I took a gander under the hood last night and saw that the vacuum cap that I had on the port on the compresser cover is gone. SO theres a little boost leak. God know how long its been gone for.

Also noticed watching my video of me doing pulls on the dyno that I need some mounts.... Looked at my rad and noticed that Turbo smacks it after a hard pull and I let off. Needless to say its gonna cause a pretty good leak here at this rate. I dont want to upgrade to hard mounts like I had in the crx because it vibrated my teeth out. And I like the soft squishy ride that I have now. I have es inserts in the rear and side trans mounts, and it looks like prothane makes a insert for the drivers side mount but I hear it makes the car rattle pretty good. And well, Im old and Kinda want a quiet car. If it wasn't my daily, I wouldn't care.

So I was thinking about making a home made dampener to slow the movement of the motor. Like using a rear coil over shock from a mountain bike. If any of you nogs have an Idea chime in....

Send me a copy of your .cal....

And a log if u have one...

I wanna see why that dyno graph looks like that....

Otherwise I know how you feel...

T04e fed into a Jrsc unregulated...  Gives you the same feeling you get @6k, at about 4k....    Whiplash machine;  doubly so when boostcut was set at 18psi (top seen was 38; usually 32 from heat losses).  This is 6.5psi turbo x 6.5psi Jrsc - heat losses from Jrsc == retarded.  Resulted in exploded oem jdm d15b.

Like what?

You can see where you reach target boost;  the graph hp increases, but is very wavy....  Usually you see a steady increasing flatline or curve.  Also how tq rises just after 6k and doesn't stay flat ( showin me its not being tuned for mbt; in which tuning for mbt is when you usually see the best power curve).

Well I really wouldn't call it a tune, more like "have Dave, watch my shit on the dyno and make sure I don't blow it up"

I'm leaving for Jamaica in 3 weeks to go on vacation and when I get back I'm gonna probably get with dave and have a full street tune done, and then finish it off on the dyno until my clutch slips.

Also, we were running old crusty ngk 4644 that were gapped @ .035 and then threw a set of 4554s in and it cleaned up a little. So I have a feeling that there is still quite a bit more power to be made. It's just a matter of weather or not I can put it to the payment.

On a side note, I was thinking about how I can keep my nice soft mounts, and also not hit my radiator. With my turbo, And I think I'm going to Try some sort of limiting strap that will keep my motor from moving forward to far when I let off the throttle after a rip.

I see 30-50+up based on the drop in tq and the dip before 6k.

I know for sure it's the VTEC crossover causing the early dip; but your fuel and timing maps will reveal the true story of the pre and post 6k dips.

Plus I'm interested to see final timing's role in your hp number.... And how far you pushed it up if at all.

I myself gravitate toward .75*/psi above 6pounds...  On extremely high compression your timing window is immensely smaller.

So if u get a chance, shoot it over.  I'll give some notes on what I see and why it affects it.  Helps you build the knowledge :)

4554 is my favorite plug.  Never needed 9's...  I generally rape 7173 until I get blowout @.019; then switch to 4554 @.027 and work my way down.

Yeah I dont have a the front trans mount because the trans is busted off right there. An I never had the bracket on the drivers side so kinda shitty. I did put the energy suspension insert in the rear mount, but it you watch the video of it on the dyno that fucker just uses that rear mount as a pivot point to rock on. So I think I might try and build a homemade traction bar. I have 4' of some beefy ass 2" sch 60 tubing and a extra set of factory tow hooks that Ill probably weld the tubing too. And then get a torque mount and bolt that from the where the trans bolts to the motor down to the trac bar.

So I got a drivers side torque mount & bracket coming from chris m. Now I just need to get the trans side one, and then and swap out trans cases. Got a buddy that's gonna trade me one straight across for his ls trans in his car as he is using hasport mounts and doesn't even run his lower tq mount on his transmission.

Well its sold. Since the last time I posed in the thread my family has grown. Had a kid and swinging a car seat in and out of this teg everyday was a pain. Had a really good friend that was looking for a boosted car and I told him I would sell him my dc. He paid me $6250. Figured I didn't do to bad considering I only paid $500 for this rolling chassis. Probably broke even with everything I've put into it. I installed new carpet b4 i sold it. Hes gonna clean this thing up better than i ever would have.
New carpet

Picked up a 66 nova out of my dads garage a couple of years ago. Was sitting for almost 30years untill i grabbed it. Build thread http://www.realhomemadeturbo.com/forum/index.php/topic,18115.0/nowap.html

So I figured the nova is gonna get all the attention now. Kinda done with worrying about if my daily driver is gonna get stolen and all that. The nova stays in the garage unless I'm out beating on it. It has some big plans for the future. Tpi, boost, and dirty 3rds......

In the meantime i Picked up a new daily beater. 96 accord lx 4 door 5 speed non vtec, non abs :) $1800

I'm the 3rd owner of it. The guy I bought it from is in the Navy and is getting shipped overseas. He bought it from the the 1st owner who lives in the same town as me and all the original paperwork from when it was purchased from the dealer is in the glovebox. Clear coat is peeling in some spots and the front bumper has some pretty good scratches in it but for a daily beater I'm pretty happy. Only spent 1800 so I can't really bitch. Overall I really like it.

Gonna do a timing belt and water pump cam seal and balance shaft seal. Ordered up some window tint gonna try my hand at doing it myself. I guess I'll see how much of a pain it is. Other than that I'm gonna drive it until the wheels fall off.
