Vac doesn't mean shit in that setup, plus its not holding vac. All of the vac is after the throttle body. It's almost atmospheric pressure in that tube.

umm yeah, no shit!  actually welded one up out of sheetmetal a few months ago.  it turned out pretty good.

this bitch spit a rod, with broken ringlands on all 3 cylinders. the bottom of 2 pistons are missing their skirts, all with no turbo.

So what did I do? flat top pistons, forged rods, decked block, shaved head, major porting, custom header being made (by me).

going to rock the stock tbi injection till I build my tpi manifold, going to run it off the stock tbi computer.

finally got this bitch running.  in my haste getting the head on I installed the head gasket backwards, starved the whole top end of oil.  said fuck it and threw a head I've had laying in the floor of my workshop for a few years, threw in my reground cam with fucked bearing surfaces, and the bitch purrs like a fuckin tiger!  gotta drain all the old gas out of it, fill with some premium so I can crank the timing up on it.

so fuck the 3 cyl, I opted for a 4 cyl out of a suzuki swift gti.  threw away the maf related shit, and have it running on a microsquirt for fuel and spark.  this is the way It should have went the first time.

fyi, I'm just gonna do a generic copy and paste over here from my build thread.

so I am swapping a g13b from an 89 gti into my 95

fully rebuilt, arp rod bolts, arp head studs, .5mm overbore flat top pistons.  bd10 profile cams
g16 oil pump





after 2 months of working on it in my spare time, a friend came over and the motor is finally in!







have made a little more progress on the car, microsquirt can only drive one low impedence injector, or 4 high impedence injectors per channel.  stock gti injectors are low impedence, so I would have to run resistors, or swap to high impedence injectors.  I opted for the latter, selecting a set from a 97 suzuki esteem.  I used the harness from a 2000 esteem, modifying the injector clips so that it would have a single disconnect to ease in possible future troubleshooting.  the injector pintle caps I wasn't a fan of, so I removed the pintle caps from the stock gti injectors, and used them with the new injectors. 

anyway, on with the pics

the esteem injectors fit in my pocket though, I didn't see any other injectors at pull-a-part that looked like they would've worked.  they are from a g16, so same engine series, so I knew they would work.  I do have some td03's off a turbo volvo that was a twin turbo.  I am afraid they may be to small for my 1.3 liter. I am pretty sure it will "run out of air" before 8000rpm  I can't find any maps for the turbo, anybody have any experience with them?  they are td03's from a 2000ish twin turbo 2.8 inline 6 volvo s80

so it is getting turboed. ordered the oil lines a few days ago. I already have a tdo3 off a volvo, should boost pretty quickly, just hope it isn't too far out of it's efficiency range in the upper rpm range.
