what do they rev to?
rough calcs say that 330hp comes on at 3000rpm @553ft lbs

so anything after 3000 revs the torque must be dropping off as fast as the revs are going up. defeats the purpose of a turbo.

Nope, the WRC cars switched to 1.6L turbo's for the 2011 season.  They used to be 2.0L turbos.
